I saw this yesterday and was surprised at how good it is. I grew up seeing a lot of Bond movies, but I wouldn't say I'm a fan. Casino Royal is definitely a new direction for the Bond film franchise.
Has anyone else seen this? Is anyone writing a review?

I just got back from seeing it, and I enjoyed it a lot. I like how it focused more on the action/suspense aspect of the franchise and less on the gadgetry and snappy one-liners. I also think I'm going to like Daniel Craig in the role, especially if they maintain the current focus in future movies.

I agree with you there, Harbinger. I hope they keep in that same feel for any followups, especially the very first that is b&w. Also when the girl is in the shower after seeing someone die, and keeping the over-the-top stuff from going way over the top. Overall adding to a more gritty and realistic story, something you could take a bit more serious compared to the latest Bond films. Last thing is I like they took enough time to actually finish an origin story, rather than trying to cram it all in under two hours.

I havent' seen it, but both reviewers on NPR loved it. I may even get my wife to it.
