There is some astonishingly grisly violence, but no language or sex of any kind.
So we have a novel full of illiterate, androgenous mutes beating each other to bloody pulps? :)

If you were an illiterate, androgynous mute, you'd probably want to take it out on someone, too.

That's why those ninja monkeys are so violent...I get it now! Probably what makes 'em tasty, too.

actually, they're neither mute nor androgynous. What makes them violent is that they are NOT androgynous, but there are no female ninja monkeys. This is very frustrating to most of them.

Odd. I'd actually gone through some of the other MTG novels, and they weren't as bad as this review made it sound. That's really sad given that Kamigawa may be the richest plane they've made yet for storytelling, and getting some more material on the setting would be interesting. Spelling errors in a WoTC book? They've got more money than that...

but they don't spend it. There are always tons of grammatical errors in all the books I read from game publishers, including Wizards. I've even stopped mentioning it because it's so prevalent you just have to ignore it.

I will never stop mentioning it. It's downright evil, in my opinion, to publish this much stuff and refuse to establish a proper editing division. I feel terrible about all the errors on TWG, for goodness' sake, and we're a volunteer website run by gamers. I'm certainly not going to forgive a worse level of quality from a much larger, more professional organization.

yeah, I feel bad about our own too, that's another reason why I don't mention it so much.
On the other hand, if I do start mentioning it again, maybe they'll open some positions up to us.

I don't believe that many companies have a policy of hiring abusive strangers. It's worth a shot, though.
I actually applied for a position editing their books last summer, but the sample they sent was so bad I couldn't stand to read it, and decided not to inflict that kind of torture on myself. I called back and told them to take my name off the list--probably stupid, in hindsight, but man was that terrible.

man.... give me that shot and I'll do it. Even editing rat crap would be better than listening to idiots who can't understand that "require shipping information" means I need to be told their address... whether or not they have to pay for the service.
