I saw this and thought it might be right up your alley. I've heard they take some time to put together, but they're great for building your own board...and cheap to boot!

wow that's cool and for only $10 for the prints. That might actualy make me want to invest and play hero-clix. You sould see if you can get some review copies Fell.
-
Not bad. They also have medieval and ancient stuff. I wonder if the castle battlements can hold the weight of a warhammer regiment? I suppose one could use wood to reinforce it.
Excellent as stand ins for proper scenery... especially if your office has a colour printer.
For dungeons, check out that link i posted to dwarfen forge... they have awesome dungeon scenery. Cannot remember the link now.
I am tempted by buying (or using kazaa to simply illegally download... im evil like that) the spaceships one. It is the right scale for warhammer 40k, and you can have hugely cool games, such as immitating space hulk, or having a vicious boarding action.
-
That would be so cool for Champions!!!
Actually I can think of about a million games that would be good for.
-
That's some pretty cool stuff. Let's see how interested they are in a review or two.
-
I envy you.
-
The more I look at what they've done and how they've done it, the more impressed I am. You could use these things in almost any game, be it tabletop or RPG or what have you.
-
I remember a few years back when they started they released some "Village on the Cheap" stuff for free. I downloaded it and used it for Mordheim.
On the same note, WOTC has a bunch of fantasy paper terrain free to download. They made it for Chainmail and there's some pretty good stuff.
-
The WOTC stuff is ok, but I think these Microtactics sets are more versitile.
-
I don't know... The WOTC stuff is quality and its free. It is really genre specific though so may not be of much use depending on your game. The Microtactix stuff is versatile, of slightly lesser quality, and costs a little.
It all depends on your point of view, I guess.
-
Do you have a link for the WotC stuff?

broke down and bought the CD yesterday. I'll tell you how they are...
-
you're worse the both me and Tage put together when it comes to compulsive buying Jeffe
-
Not really, I was planning to buy it anyway. I wanted something for a champions game Im planning... soooo
It was a logical choice and now I dont have to buy a ton of buildings to keep around.
It came out of my $150 Every 2 month RPG fund.
Sometime around July Im going to buy Champions and Star Hero. And maybe Microtactics Cheapsville USA.
-
They sent me a couple of patterns, so hooray. I'm continually impressed by how many applications these buildings have. I'll throw myself a scenery-building party this weekend and give you a review.
-
Jeffe, denial is an ugly thing when it comes to addiction. You recently tried to tell me that my recent series of purchases totalling around $180 was too much, when you spend nearly that much every other month, whereas I have spent less than twice that on RPGs in the last well, 10 years, really.
It doesn't make you a bad person, but yes, you do spend quite a lot on games.
-
Yeah, but you get it easy. You get fell to send you free stuff.
You jammy git.
-
have to agree with entropy there, you get tons of stuff for free. And in reality I dont normally spend this much on games. I call it my 150 $ rpg fund, but it also doubles as an eating out fund, movie fund and gift fund. Right now I just have some games I want to buy. Remember I had to spend money on my hackmaster stuff and my D&D stuff and my gurps stuff whereas you didn't. The other stuff, well thats ok I guess.
Im in a position that if I want a book or a DVD chances are Astrids parents will buy it for us before we even need to get it. So I spend my spare cash on stuff I like. After I get the Hero stuff its all become my Jeff wants a new computer by christmas fund and Im going to put away twice as much....
And I told you to spend less you because you have 2 youngins (about to be 3) and since I think of you as the brother I never had that makes them (at least in my head) my neices and makes me want to insure their well being. Trust me If I had kids I would be spending much less on games.
-
Yeah, but you get it easy. You get fell to send you free stuff.
You jammy git.
Ah, but I don't "spend" do I? I spend next to nil on gaming, is my point, I've just found another way to support my habit.
I assume "jammy" means something like silly.
And as far as I'm concerned, the free book/CD source cancels out the free RPG stuff. I have a lot of those I want to buy too and I hardly get any, so it's even, eh?
-
I also dont have kid's so its not really even.
-
"jammy git" is british slang for "lucky git".
-
lol that sounds like something the Japanese would say.
-
Man, you guys sure are lucky and all. Those ones that get the free stuff and all. Not youse guys that have to buy the stuff.
-
In reality my Fiance gets the free stuff.
-
They sent the skyscraper set, so I went out and bought the map set--it will work perfectly with the mdf boards I bought and haven't drawn maps on yet. I've fiddled with the building patterns a bit and I'm impressed by how modular it all is. When I finish reviewing all these Heroclix patterns, I wonder if I can get them to send the Dungeons stuff....
-
I just wish it came with a little more.... The Scrapers and maps were cool, but not as versitile as I would like. For instance the park only has the ability to have 1 path (no intersections done) But nothing serious. Also cool public buildings (City hall or something) would have been cool. Combined with Cheepsville USA you could do some pretty wicked stuff. All in all though MicroTactics has some pretty cool stuff.
The Car stuff is great though. Especially when your super needs to throw a city bus.
-
Yeah, I'd really like to get those cars. It's only 6 bucks, maybe I will someday.
-
Apparently they have super mini's and townsfolk too....
