Books / Re: Angels and Demons

I like all of Dan Brown's books. But I after having read all, you could start to see a pattern with how he writes, and by the last two, I solved the book by the first 50 pages. It was still a fun read, but the thrill Angels and Demons / Da Vinci Code gave me was long gone. I would read his future novels, and I like the possibilities he throws out there. As a conspiracy theorist my self he offered some ideas that I like to indulge in myself. It just makes me feel less crazy :P

My wife and I are so waiting for this book.  Amazon promised to deliver it on Saturday, so we have high hopes. You know its funny. I resisted the urge to read the book once the craze started becuase I figured it was a child's story book. I'm happy to say that while it is, that it is so much more. We bought the first four books as a box set for our then 1 year old so that he could have something to read as he got older. So we read those books to hime everynight as a bedtime story and got hooked ourselves. Scary how that works.

Oh this movie is so going to rock. I can't wait to see it. I was so bummed (and angry) when they cancelled the show, but I am thrilled that Whedon stuck to his guns and managed to make it into a movie.

Sorry Fish, I missed you guys too! Between the house buying process, the plant being flaky, and a beautiful newborn, can't say as I have had much time. I even have less once license class starts. Hopefully I get some free time to start doing some serious time wasting here soon. I miss wasting time.

I am not saying that it is bad to have a character killed off in a game, it allows the story to evolve, and really the only reason why I play, and I would say the same for the rest of the group. I have had characters die off in the past, and it makes you sad, especially after all the time and love you but into developing a character, but if it can go into the story to make the story better, then there is nothing wrong with it. However, I think it is truly tragic when all the characters die at once thus ending the story before it really begins. I would say that if there was ever a time to fudge the rolls, then that would be it, or to make the game more intresting.

The campaign we started after the massacre of the characters has got a huge potential and looks like it will be a blast. If the gm didn't really want to do that campaign then that's one thing, but to throw away good material is quite another. It's kinda late now to go back, but don't throw away great campaign material just becuase of a few bad rolls (in my case and the other player's case) or a few great rolls (in the gm's case).

You are much to harsh on yourself there Nic. The only reason why you show your rolls is becuase you made a few of our players show you their rolls and you thought it would be fair. They only reason why siad player was pissed off at the rolls that were made was due to the fact that it was the second session of what was going to turn out to be a sweet campaign, and ended before it really got started. Quite frankly if that doesn't annoy any player to be killed off (along with the rest of the players)  right at the start then maybe they should just go to video games where there is way more action to fill their ADHD minds.  My point here is that you being the rules laywer that we all have come to know and love, have a hard time fudging the rolls even when you don't show us. Your just too ... principled to do something like that. You know how frustrating it is to only here the first chapter of a story to get you going and then it being taken away and you'll never get to see the outcome. With that said, you did the right thing as far as you were concerened and that is all that matters. As far as the player killer thing goes, well, you do take a satanic enjoyment in it, but usually not so far as to ruin an entire campaign :P In the end it was a bad roll (the botch) and with only two players that makes it much harder for you to help keep us alive. In the end it will allow us to grow as players and continue to challenge us and you.

I cry if I want too since it was my party:P

I am looking foward to this book. Hmm, ahem, not as much as EUOL's book mind you, but still really looking forward to it. I bought my son the first four books on his first christmas when he was barely 2 months old, and the wife and I read him the entire series. It will be nice to carry on with it for him, and now my daughter.

Nevertheless still a sweet movie. Although I had to watch it in the englished dubbed version. The chineese with subtitles was distracting me from hte rest of the film.

Cahnge the mode of combat that they are doing. From aggressive to standstill to jedi support. You need to do it for each character though.

If you are using msn explorer as your email/web browser, then all the info that SE is looking for is at the msn server. That means as long as you sign into your hotmail/msn account from any computer, you can view your mail/ bookmarks etc. Knowing that, I do not believe it is on your end. It would be a problem with you account. Those verison guys were taking the easy way out, and trying the easiest non-solution that sounds good. I am willing to bet serious money that it would not solve your problems. So I would not reformat your drive. It has been awhile since I've used msn explorer, but if I think of anything that might help you continue using it, I'll pipe up.

Well, can you game the 16th or the 17th? It should be easier for Nic to make it up since he'll be on spring break, and that is over my 7 off.
