Name that car
« on: June 15, 2005, 05:34:58 PM »
Izzy and I have decided my car needs a name. But not just any name. I mean something as cool as the car I parked next to at work today, whose Vermont license plate says "VADER" on it. Not that I'm going to get a vanity plate or anything.

But this is an 85 Jeep Cherokee. Two-door, so it's shorter than most Cherokees. Dark grey. Paint is oxydizing, so it looks rough and brownish on the hood and roof. Tan interior. Backfires occasionally (but not as often as when I first got it! it needs the idle adjusted and carburetor tuned).

Suggestions?

Actually, though, it's not a bad name for a gray jeep.

It sounds like you need a tough name, it being a Jeep and with a little bit of attitude (the backfiring).

Something like Throckmorten

(that was the name Chris Crowe had us use for every writing exercise in his 320 class).

Not lately, I just really like his Dark Materials series. And I thought it fitting considering Iorek's armor started out gray, and then it got rusty, hence brown. Plus, he is probably about the size of your Jeep.

Obscure references time!

Name: Vingilot

Only one person on the forum is geeky enough in the right area to recognize that reference.

Trigger.  If Roy Rogers can use it for a horse, you can for a car.
