They'll make a gamer of me yet
« on: May 09, 2005, 09:42:49 PM »
My welcome packet contained (in addition to much, much paperwork):

D&D Basic Game
Years of Adventure (30 yr anniversary book)
Clone Strike Starter Set (SW minis)
D&D dice set
Duel Masters starter set
GI Joe 2-player starter game
City of Towers (Eberron book 1)
Dragoneye Expansion Pack (D&D minis)
A set of Magic cards (Kamigawa--Spiritbane)
and several small packs of cards, like Star Wars RotJ, Neopets, and Magic Unhinged
oh, and the New Jedi Order Sourcebook and the Epic Level Handbook for D&D.

And I have a handful of other sourcebooks at my desk, because I'll have to become at least nominally familiar with the game so I can edit the books. So, maybe one of these days, I'll know what you guys are talking about!

Hahaha! :D

Though I must admit it's kinda worrying when the starter pack includes the epic level one... that's more power than you'd normally expect a novel to contain :/
If you're ever in an argument and Entropy winds up looking staid and temperate in comparison, it might be time to cut your losses and start a new thread about something else :)

It's especially funny that they gave you GI Joe, since they discontinued that game. Unless there's something we don't know....

I don't know anything about that, and if I did, I couldn't tell you. All I know is they gave me stuff that's out, so it's probably just an old one they had lying around.

Sprig, you play SW minis, right? You have any need for the ones I have?

I'll take them, though I just started playing.

They're yours, 42. If I don't make it down to Utah in the next couple months, I'll mail them to you. I'm going to worry about finding an apartment before I figure that one out.

think Geek is hireing SE, too bad you don't have marketing training or you could work for a company that puts "An appreciation for Star Wars, good beer, dogs, monkeys and occasional gaming marathons is a plus." as one of it's job requirements.

I actually could PROBABLY get that job, since Fairfax is even nearer than where I currently work. I've seen the listing many times before, and each time pass. I don't reckon think geek will pay me more than I'm getting right now, and who WANTS to write marketing (no offense anyone).
