What Movie should I rent?
« on: March 12, 2004, 11:13:01 AM »
I need a movie to rent for this weekend. Brenna and her husband recommended Secondhand Lions, but I realized it would be good to have some backup ideas in case they're out.

I recently re-watched A Knight's Tale. Still very entertaining.

How To Steal a Million with Audrey Heburn and Peter O'Toole. That is if JT will sit through a movie made before he was born. ;)

Secondhand Lions is supposed to be really good. I'd love to hear what you think if you rent it.

He will, as long as there's not singing involved.  ;)

I enjoyed Secondhand Lions a lot. It's hilarious.

However, School of Rock is also a prime choice.

Nope. No singing. Men don't seem to like movies in which the characters spontaneously burst into song I've noticed.

Breakfast at Tiffany's is also really good.

ugh. No it isn't. Even for old-timey romances it isn't. It doesn't do anything.

Freaky Friday is really funny if you haven't seen it.
Bend It Like Beckham is weird but cool.
If you haven't seen About a Boy, I recommend it, though it's kind of a chick flick, the main character has the life I want.
Recently I rented the 1st season of Alias and it was cool after you get past the pilot. However, it is one of those shows where you have to watch it in order for any of it to make sense.
I highly recommend School of Rock.
Haven't seen Second Hand Lions, but I've been meaning to see it.

42, this once again reminds me why you have always been my movie buddy. We have such good taste. Though I must say I've never had a desire to see School of Rock. I'll forgive you that tiny deviation.  ;)

have you seen it Stacer? I don't usually go with critical reviews since most critics SUCK. But I was expecting this movie (which I still have not seen) to be just another film in the vein of Adam Sandler or Chris Farley: good for some cheap laughs but ultimately worthless. My supposition has been contradicted by everything I've heard about it though, so I'm willing to see it.
