Well, I applied. We'll see what happens. I'm really feeling the pull toward New York, but I also need to apply for anything that seems like a viable option.
Cool thing about the New York possibility, though, is that a friend who is getting married in August has promised me her very cheap (for New York standards) one-bedroom apartment. Since I'll be "graduating" (term in quotes because it's not a real graduation, but rather a forced exile) to a family ward in August, it really doesn't matter where I live, so I can go for cheap, rather than where the singles ward is. (NY singles wards are strict about the 31 age limit.) And the family ward is actually right across the street. Jaime says it's a great ward and a nice neighborhood with a park right down the street, so between that and a fairly good commute to midtown, it'd be a good option. I'd just find a sublet till it was available, and sublets are the easiest thing to find in the NY wards, apparently.
