TWG is delighted to welcome our newest author, Aprilynne Pike. Aprilynne is the author of the Wings series, as it says on the blurb; and she's totally awesome.

Hmmm... I want to read this book.
-
Can I assume she is LDS as well?
-
From the bio on her website, it certainly appears that way.

Who are you and where did you come from?
(In other words, I'm sure you're friends with a lot of the other nice chaps here, and it sounds like you're a published author and would fit in great here, etc., but I'm not familiar with your writing, or you as a person. Mind telling us a little about yourself, and how you ended up at TWG?)
And in case you're totally new to TWG: Welcome aboard!

It will be a week or so before we're likely to see Aprilynne here on TWG. Her book launches today, and she's got a lot of stuff going on. The short answer to "how did she end up on TWG" is that she's a friend of mine launching her first book, and I thought she'd be a good addition to our community, and she didn't have a message board yet, so I brought her on.
But don't worry; she'll get on and introduce herself more fully in a few days.

AhK. Thanks for the head's up, Fell.
And Aprilynne: Congrats on getting published and all!

I just read the sample on Harper Teen. Very interesting. Not something I'd usually be interested in, but, especially at the point it cut off, I was very concerned about what would happen to the girl.
While I'm on the topic...sort of...is it just me, or does Harper Teen consistently have some of the best cover art amongst YA? I mean, looking at their website I see a lot of very colorful, eye catching, and just plain aesthetically pleasing cover art.

I've got a feeling this book is going to blow up big... just a small feeling... Great job Aprilynne!!!

OYE!! How'd this new forum subsection escape my notice!?!?
Anyways, whoever you are, congrats with the book, and welcome to TWG (if you even visit here)

This kind of stuff usually isn't in my repertoire, but I downloaded a sample of the book to my kindle to see what it's like. Like to support local authors if at all possible.
Grats on the publications though. Regardless of what I think about the book. That by itself is impressive.

Did you guys catch the 6/15 Writing Excuses? Her ideas for Wings are really cool. I'll have to get a copy of the book.
