Ok, forget the meeting of persons in a single collective to pass their minds to one another for a few short hours. Now I am thinking (instead of just abandoning this project like I was thinking of doing not more than 2 hours ago) that we will post our poem here, or a link to the poem on your blog or wherever, and then we can comment upon it here, or there, or anywhere you want!

Right? Sound good? Better? Bestly?!

Guess I'll get this going then.

Here's a poem I wrote monday and am quite proud of. Was fun to write and imagine what life may be like for myself in 20 some years.

Good poem Gemm.

I especially liked the vivid imagery of  the mighty hunter superimposed over the wife beater.  Nice.

Thank you Skar. I am flattered you even took the time to look at it, least of all comment on it at all.

However, I have another poem I just wrote today (not more than 10 minutes ago) that I am particularly fond of already, if not only because of the "song" it was inspired by.

Here's the link, and I think if, after reading it, you listen to the song you will be pleasantly pleased!

Anyone else going to post some poetry pieces/topics around these here parts?

Hooray! New Poem that helped form a new series of poems I'm going to start working on.

This one is about a co-worker. There's another one a few days ago that was written about another one. Strangely enough these are both about female co-workers. But avast! I will write one about a male team member post-haste!

Now, someone ELSE post a freaking poem before I rename this thread "Gemm's thread blog about his poetry blog." Poozers!

Here are two poems I wrote last Saturday, while I was doing laundry. For some reason the mad rush to get ready to leave on vacation made my brain start thinking in free verse fragments, rather than long sentences.  The situation wasn't helped by the fact that I get really REALLY anal when doing my laundry.

Thoughts on Laundry

In Heaven
your favorite clothes NEVER
stain
rip
shrink
fade
or wrinkle.

Classic Pieces

My favorite purple tee
has a sparkly message written across the front:

Shirts with the year they were bought
displayed prominently on the front
are a real quick way to let people know
exactly how old your clothes are.
Do not invest
in these.
There is just no way you are the pine-scented air. --Billy Collins, "Litany"
