So, turns out that I can't install the latest patch on my computer because I had to install that other one manually. SO, I decided wtomfrpg13, why not uninstall and try a reinstall. But I knew it wouldn't work, since it always comes up short-handed and just pisses me off even more. So, you know what, screw it. I'm done with this bs. Screw you Blizzard. I thought I knew you, I loved you and adored you. But now that I have to put up with this BS I won't stand for it anymore.
-
So you're saying its time to buy a chair??
-
Um, well, maybe. Yeah.
-
Hey, I gave up on WoW before I even got the game. There's no shame in quitting! :D
-
I'm not quitting per say. I've still got some options to go through. Such as try my friends CDs. And if that doesn't work, I'll be buying a new computer.
-
How did "I won't stand for Blizzard's BS anymore" turn into "I'll buy another computer if it means I have another chance." It's like you're in an abusive relationship, blaming yourself for Blizzard's problems.
-
Ok, fine. It's not really Blizzard's fault. It's more my computer because it won't install UT2k4 either. So, I'm fairly certain it's my current computer. So... I was just venting, and there's, yeah. Leave it! Me and Blizzard will work things out! It's not their fault!

water or urine? I've seen dogs that get really excited do that.

You should read PA's post about WoW today. I agree with them, in fact the servers are less stable now then they were in CB. There are also wacky log in issues right now, like being stuck in an hour long queue when there's not even a high server load.
-
But thats not my Proglbmew! It's installing the stupid freaking thing! I will kill something mechanical tonight! GRAHE!
-
You don't exist anymore spriggan. Please leave :(
-
Whoa, whatforth why?
-
Don't make me drown you in a sea full of spam, gemm :-/
-
But :( What is it for? :-X Why did he do? :'( Where will it be?! :-/
-
I was quite surprised by PA's post, because I haven't experienced any of the problems they have. None. I think they're just on a high-load server.
-
I'm on a medium load server (it rarely gets high) and I get most of thier problems. It seams only the lowest population servers have no problems.
-
Well I'll join the chorus of frustration today. I had all day off, just wanted to level a bit and what do I find...ques.
I hope this is a band aid only used because the tech guys had the day off today. I don't have time to wait in line to play. If this doesn't go away, I will.
I have faith this is only temporary.
-
They said it was, I had to wait an hour today to log in. There has been no official statment as to why there are queues for the holidays other then "it's to keep servers from crashing". I agree that sometimes its ok if its temporary, but as I stated before. the servers are less stable then in CB.
-
I had some crazy lag last night when I flew to the Crossroads and landed in the middle of an Alliance raid; Prometheus logged in to the Crossroads right at the same time, so he got a bit of it too. I've never had trouble logging in, though. Maybe that's because I play so late at night.
-
No problems experienced with logins on Cenarion Circle. The lag was nothing new either...just extreme due to the dumb raid...I get a lesser version of it everytime I go inside the Auction House.
Our server rocks, Fell. ;D
This wasn't the designated thread for it, but I thought I'd mention that I still have a level 6 dwarf paladin on CC that's ready for a TWG party. My brother could probably join if someone can't come or otherwise won't be there. People are still interested, quiaff?
-
My hunter is still ready to go, but I think by now people are mostly interested in their main characters. There's also the issue of time--I play every day now, very consistently, but not until pretty late at night. Still, if we could get a group together I wouldn't say no.
-
I'm not so "focuesed" on my main that I wouldn't want to play with friends. Heck, by the time you get to lvl 50 you get sick of the same character. Heck I've got a lvl 8 alliance mage on CC and was thinking of makeing a horde character on CC so as to play with TWGers. I still think we need to get a guild going, so we know when we're all logged on.
As for CC not being laggy or log in problems, I think the reason Hyjal has those problems is becasue it shares a database cluster with some of the more populated servers. CC is one of the newiest servers so it dosen't share a DB with any high population servers. And since Blizz posted that the Queue was mostly a DB problem it makes sence.
-
Heh, Gamespot posted an article on this. My favorite part is how they refer to "an editor and Penny arcade" and then tell about Tyco's complaint about WoW and he removeing WoW from their top 10 games list.

I'm all for getting a guild going. My other guilded alliance character is in a rough spot right now...low population zone and I need a group. Plus my guild is on another continent mainly.
I would happily do either Horde or Alliance on CC. I could use my Paladin if we still wanted to do all Dwarf, or I could easily make something else. Lot's of combos I haven't yet tried.
Let me know the what's and when's and I'll be all over it.
-
I can play pretty much any night starting at 10:30pm MTN time. You guys just let me know, and Torvald the dwarven hunter will be happy to shoot things for you. And make you leather armor (eventually).
-
Here's what I'd be willing to play:
Stick with our Dwarven Party
Tauren Hunter
Tauren Druid
Human Mage
Human Priest
Human Warlock (maybe...my undead warlock is fun but I don't know if I'd want to play another one).
Just let me know so I know what to focus on.
-
I play alliance on Skullcrusher.
(look me up, Human paladan named Eorl)
I often find a que when I try and join in Prime time. Last night it was 127 but I was on in under 4 minutes.
Durring an outage, we (My Guild) Rolled some Horde on Gorfiend (Low populatiuon East Coast)
(look me up Snaga, Scatha, Narash)
We never see an issue with Gorfiend
I guess WoW is a victim of too much sucess too fast and bad load balancing
(FFXII Got around this by requiring you to go to what server they told you to use and earn a "world pass" to invite your friends onto your server)
I think that the best option would be to offer the opportunity to move your Chars to Low pop servers and keep your level/loot Offer it for 1 week only and to SPECIFIC Low pop servers only.
Then again, The disruption in game economy/databasemanagement and interface design for such a process would probabaly take as much work as fixing the servers as they are... so I could be wrong. I wouldnt know unless I got a chance to see the environment

Removing a game award for a weekend of poor service on some servers? Give me a break. I would have trouble believing most things that would reduce my estimation of the award more than something like that.
Whatever.
I'll be on Alliance tonight...but I'm not 100% on which character I'll be using. I'll be in the twg channel either way, though. Tonight sounds great to me.
-
prom, it's not just a weekend they're complaining about, it's because they ALWAYS have that problem. They complain about it a lot in their rants. A game you can't play is a game that doesnt' deserve an award.
-
ya. there have been 15 or so servers that have had these same problems since release, and the reason PA removed the award is:
1) They have yet to fix the servers well after 2 months after release.
2) They never tell us anything about what's going on. Blizz has had pretty poor custmor service with WoW, and it dosen't help that their Community team never has any info becsue Blizz dosen't tell them anything.
-
So what's the word on putting together a real guild?
-
we need 10 people, online at the same time, and 10s.
Right now we have 4.
Fell
Mr. P
Promethious
Me
We could up that to 6 by talking Promethious' brother and Micah (EUOL's roommate) to help out.
That leaves us 4 people short of a guild. If Gemm ever get's WoW working the that would leave us 3 people short.
-
I don't think we'd have trouble recruting the necessary folks. I have some friends who would pop on and sign the charter just to help out, I think.
We still haven't decided about Horde or Alliance though. Sure, we could all keep our dwarves, but it sounds like most everyone is already in an Alliance Guild.
I vote we go Horde.
I'd be all for playing Tauren.
If the vote sways the other way I'm cool with it too.
-
I don't see why we couldn't do both. We all have different play scedules and one of the purposes of a guild is so we know when each other is on and can communicate better.
-
well you wont get any new members for a while...

Ya, Blizz has said that several times. It's old news. Though they do occasionaly offer the game via their in game store even if they're not shipping out any more copies to retailers. They could handle new people, but what they'd have to do is block half the servers from letting new people on them, the other half have very few people on them. But I doubt you'll see any type of restrictions on server populations since that method is unpopular. Though as Tycho said "The deep wisdom of Final Fantasy XI's "World Pass" system has finally been made real to me".

Well people are starting to file complaints with the BBB over WoW.
http://www.labbb.org/BBBWeb/Forms/Business/CompanyReportPage_Expository.aspx?CompanyID=13050668&hAKAID=13&hAddrID=10
I hope something good comes out of all this, like MMO games actuay not comming out when they're not ready.
-
I cannot think of a single MMO that launched without Massive issues
With every one comes the "Chicken Little" phase, The Petitions on the boards, the letters to the BBB (worthless IMAO*) the threats to Sue
Nothing ever comes of it
I saw it in Everquest, Asheron's Call, Planetside, Galaxies, and now, WoW.
It is part of the experience, A bad part, but one I have come to expect
-
Thing is it shouldn't be. True things happen, that's understandable, but MMO's are treated different then any other product by their fan base which is what allows these problems to persist. Can you name any other product in the world that a company would expect you to purchise half finished with the addage "we'll fix it as we go along"? Would you buy a movie or book that you got only half of then required to pay extra each month to get the other half? I don't think so.
I'm not jumping on the "I hate Blizz" Bandwagon here, I've been ranting like this for months now. Also I was one that stated serveral times WoW wasn't ready for release and Blizz was going to have problems (though I never thought the servers would contiunsly get worse).
Also Blizz isn't doing themselfs any favors with their current community team. I'm sure it's more Blizz's fault then the emploies, but they never know anything, allwayse reply in very vauge generic answers. Sometimes flat out lie, they like to say server crashes were "sceduled", though if they were and never told us that's incompedency. I think if Blizz actualy stepped up and explained things, told people what was going on, there would be less outrage.
-
who is Sue and why is she being threatened?
-
She's the one that said "Ninja Monkeys have no place in our game".
-
That horrible, horrible woman.
-
Gabe posted some pretty specific information about the problems (http://www.penny-arcade.com/news.php3?date=2005-01-24)
