I'm trying to find fiction about conventions. Does anyone know anything? So far I know of Deep Secret by Diana Wynne Jones, We'll Always Have Parrots by Donna Andrews, and Dramacon by Svetlana Chmakova (I probably spelled her last name wrong).
-
There's a convention in one of the earlier Sandman comics, found in the Doll's House collection. That same setting is repeated in one of the prose short stories in the Sandman: Book of Dreams anthology.

I tried Sandman once. It was a bad, bad idea. I'm not allowed to read any more of the series.
-
So, I'm guessing this means there aren't any other books about conventions. Unless there are people out there holding out on me. Reply, dang you!
-
Well, you already mentioned Dramacon, which would have (obviously) been my suggestion. I believe that sections of Comic Party and Genshiken also occur at conventions.
-
THere's a short Lethargic Lad story that takes place at a con.
"I'm writing a fan fiction about what Boba Fett does in his spare time. I figure he watches a lot of TV."
And almost every web comic on the planet has been to a con once or twice.

Wow, so all I have to do to get people to respond is to act grumpy? If only I had known this sooner.
-
I want it on the record that I did *not* respond to grumpiness. I was out of town for a week, which I posted in multiple locations. I didn't even check the boards in that time.

Forgive my impertinence.

I just re-read Deep Secret not too long ago, and enjoyed it a lot.
What about that... ummm... Bimbos of the Death Sun, or whatever it's called.
-
Yeah, I was trying to remember that one, I haven't read it, and I couldn't remember the title, but the description came to mind.
-
Bimbos of the Death Sun? I admit I've never heard of this one.
-
If it's the one I'm thinking of, it's a murder mystery set at an SF con.
