It was a beautiful movie. Wonderful acting.

But I'm going to lump it in with the book "Shogun" where it shows only part of a culture---the part that is less than redeeming. It was a sad movie to watch like "Shogun" was a sad book to read. And afterward, with this movie and the book, I felt emotionally drained and left wondering if it was time well spent. Still haven't figured it out.
