I was shoping on Amazon, looking for the soundtrack to Muppets Take Manhattan, actually. When Amazon told me that the related artists for the Muppets were
Sesame Street (makes sense)
Alvin and the Chipmunks (guess that makes sense too)
They Might Be Giants (getting a little strange here)
and Manheim Steamroller (what?)
-
Umm... starts with an M?
The only thing that begins to make sense is targeted age group.
-
I think the related links tend to be just that "people who bought ________ also bought _________" and I know that when I buy things in stores or off Amazon they aren't necessarily related. Or is this something different?
-
this is different.
This is not the "recommended" list. This is the "related artist" list.
-
Happy Banglideshi Programmers with a weird and sick sense of humor perhaps?
-
Didn't you know? All the members of Manheim Steamroller are muppets.
-
That does explain a lot.
-
That's what Amazon gets for letting Gemm write their lists for them....
(Newest philosophy: Gemm=Homsar.)
-
Wonderful, a new amusement: read all of Gemm's posts in Homsar's voice.
-
Just to help further EUOL's point. I can do Homsar's voice to a T. I'm very adept at it. Heyyy! You shunk my jenja jams!

"I'm a song from the sixties"
I think it's more around the fact Mahattan & Mannheim are similar. Sounds more like lazy programmers than sadistic ones.
TMBG makes sense. First time I heard them was on Radio AAHZ which was an AM station that played music for kids. They were then put out of business when their partner splitted ways (after learning what they needed to know about radio broadcasting) and made it's own radio station, Radio Disney.

The TMBG guys did some voices for Home Movies Sunday night. That was pretty funny.
