"Based on the traditional form of japanese poetry".

Also, apparently, based on the traditional form of the phenomenon known as "Red Meat".

Um, you don't read Red Meat?  It's only one of the first, most famous, and most WEIRD webcomics out there.

nope, I only read PVP and PA.

Also, apparently, based on the traditional form of the phenomenon known as "The Far Side".  Just becasue a comic is non-linear and is weird dosen't mean it's a rip of another.  Besides the Haiku one is set to Haikus, and that makes it completely different form meat wich's theam is old 60's artwork.

Oh I wasn't saying it was a rip-off.  Just that the rather sick and twisted sense of humor seemed to homage Red Meat.

It's a compliment if it's anything.

hrm. hit and miss, imo. The idea, as Sprig says, is very clever. And there are some that remind me of Red Meat in a good way, as Fuzzy says. However, there are others that just don't work. *shrug* It's definitely worth working on to develop.

Very hit and miss, but when it's on, it's hilarious. The Bunny Alligator is my favorite, even though the second panel only has 6 syllables.

only if you pronounce the second half of "idea" as a dipthong, instead of two separate vowel sounds, which is, I believe, what the author was thinking. It took me a little to get this one, I admit. But then I laughed heartily. I agree, when he's on, he's ON.

uh-- that scared me about the 6 syllable middle panel, but I rechecked the dictionary and it is three---

ken

p.s. it is hit or miss. what isn't? well I suppose something could be entirely miss.

thanks.

Show me a person who pronounces "idea" with three syllables, and I'll show a person who's cheating to protect the integrity of their haiku.

nah, i hear it all the time. I have a co-worker who cannot fail to enunciate a 't' with absolute precision. It's like she emphasizes that sound in every word she says. Drives me nuts.

And what about the brittish accent which turns 'idea' into I-dee-er
