Well Im going on Vacation, one I badly needed and I probably wont be able to get on a computer during my trip. This means 18 days of no TWG, which makes me a little sad. But hey at least I'll be able to post a review of England in the RPG reviews section.... (Just kidding) Seriously though, with a digital camera, a camcorder, and a whole slew of still disposables we should be in good shape. I just realized that I stop in at Entropy's home city too, but sadly that part of the trip will be so break neck, I dont see linking up with him. Shame that.
Basically the trip goes like this
London
York
Scotland
Wales
Home
with lots of days in London
one in York
a couple in Edinburgh
a couple in Wales.
with side trips to Bath, Brighton and some other places.
I wanted to go to Robin Hood country (he is my hero after all) but we didnt have time on this tour.
Oh, and friday is my wife's birthday, so I barely have time to shop for anything... thats ok she knows she gets something good this trip.
Mainly I just wanted to say TTFN.
Expect another photo essay as I bought a new journal for this trip.
I love you all.
Jeff

if your in the area, theres a resturant in london, it's a little italian resturant on the corner and it has really great italian food and is very inexpensive, it's on fullham broadway(road) and the crossroad is old kings road...

When you're in Scotland, if you happen to see a scarf in the Blair tartan... ;) I doubt you would, actually. It's very hard to find. The only place I ever found it in the entire country on anything except clip-on ties (like I need one) was up north in Pitlochry, which is where the Blair castle is--which isn't even named after the Blair family, but rather after the plain the castle was built on (blar=plain in Gaelic).
Have a great time!

I cant get everybody something, but I'll see about the scarf... after all Erics getting a shotglass. (An unusual collection to say the least since he doesnt drink)
-
The only thing I'd ask for is in France, and I'd gladly pay for it, 'cept you're not going there.
-
I'll have Entropy's head, while you're in the area.
-
I was going to say something along that line JP. But more, "Make sure he dosen't follow you back!" Oh well.
-
bring me something funny, wether it is a physical object , or a hilarious anecdote is up to you.
-
well, if the ONLY part of Entropy that comes is his head, we should be able to get by.
ANyway Jeffe, you never gave us a new title for your article, so look for it when you come back to have a really demaning title :)
Oh, and have fun! we'll be gaming without you!
-
Actually, I don't live in Scotland any more. Haven't for the last 6 or 7 years. I'm about 30 - 45 minutes from York on the train though. However, since it is legal to murder me with a longbow in York, i'll pass on the chance to meet you there. :P
-
now all we have to do is devise a way to lure Entropy to York...
-
Shouldn't be too hard. We can use a newbie as bait.

*shudder*
-
I was thinking a trail of newbies, you know he'll go through one fairly quickly.
-
hehe. *has an image of Entropy running around with a cricket bat wacking newbs*

Ok Stacer, I found your scarf, however I chose to buy you a cheaper thimble instead...
yeah thats right, a blair family thimble...
-
Ah, thats the spirit of Scotland. Counting out every last penny :D

York was really nice, but way to crowded with tourists. Stupid europeans...
the Italians and French kids were the worst, walking arm and arm 12 across the street. It was satisfying to quicken the step lower the shoulder and give one of them the elbow as I went by. I did the same thing in Oxford to the Japanese but discovered that all they need is a good look in the eyes to get out of the way.
Off the map places to visit in England, Scotland and Wales.
1. Buxton, more famous to the Spa set, Buxton is the height of Georgian style, much less crowded than Bath with a great opera house and gardens.
2. Warwick Castle, Madam Toussads takes an honest to god castle and turns it into an amusement park. Sort of a walk on the wall and into the towers will leave you dizzy and out of breath. But is definitely worth it. The reinactors at the site were remarkably educated.
3. York, Stone wall beautiful Cathedral, cool meandering shambles...
nice.
4. Edinburg, better than London, sprawling vistas, amazing sights , friendly people, and a huge fricking castle overlooking everything filled with 1.The Scots Crown Jewels and 2. the Stone of Scone.
5.Winchester.... long cathedral

Im back by the way.
-
yay!
We had a game day in your absence. Played Age of Mythology. Now that you're back, we can plan a game of 50 Fathoms.

I just read this. I've been gone for a week myself, and have been offline. Jeff, that's so nice of you to get me a thimble. I was completely kidding when I said that about a scarf--but by the way, where *did* you see it? I've been looking for one, because the only place I've found it was at Blair Castle, and I didn't think to get two while I was there (one for my sister's Christmas present, one for me). Was it on Skye?
Anyway, thanks!
-
Edinburg, but they had them at Gretena Green too.
I actually got your thimble in Edinburg Castle....
And I got Eric a shot glass as per our agreement.
-
I win!
-
Oh, I didnt mean you.
-
*cries*
-
your just a big baby... fine Ill give it to you...
-
yes, but I'm a big baby with a new shot glass!
-
its a different shot glass...
its from Wimbledon....
