I know! I love "The List" in Scivenger's bones! I quote it all the time to my friends!
Zas

Ah the list. I think that, that part was hilarious. Kaz is just crazy but yet he can be very responsible. Australia on the other hand is a bit crazy. Bastille, OMG I don't know where to start with her. She and Shasta are my FAVORITE characters!! Bastille changes so much between the first and the second to me. She seems a little more nice towards Alcatraz. Okay I have to stop or I'll do all the characters!! :)

Brandon Sanderson / Connection
« on: December 11, 2008, 01:57:21 AM »
I saw this connection between the Mistborn book and Alcatraz 1 and 2. Here it is.

Mistborn:
Sometimes, I worry that I'm not the hero everyone thinks I am. . . .

The philosophers assure me that this is the time, that the signs have been met. But I still wonder if they have the wrong man. So many people depend on me. They say I will hold the future of the entire world on my arms.

What would they think if they knew that their champion--the Hero of Ages, their savior--doubted himself? Perhaps they wouldn't be shocked at all. In a way, this is what worries me most. Maybe, in their hearts, they wonder--just as I do.

When they see me, do they see a liar?

Alcatraz 1:
I am not a good person.

Oh, I know what the stories say about me. They call me Oculator Dramatus, Hero, Savior of the Twelve Kingdoms. . . . Those, however, are just rumors. Some are exaggerations; many are outright lies. The truth is far less impressive.

Alcatraz 2:
I am a liar.

I realize that you may not believe this. In fact, hope that you don't. Not only would that make the statement particularly ironic, but it means you have very far to fall.

The part of them both being hero's that everyone counts apon but is afraid they'll fail them and both calling themselves liers. I wonder if that's a connection.

Are you serious!!  :o I would LOVE to read Alcatraz in class but I'm like in 7th grade but it doesn't make a difference. I know that book word for word. There is nothing in that book that I wouldn't get. The second, I CANNOT wait until it comes out on audio!! I have the 1st on audio and Charlie McWade does and AWESOME job!

I have a hard time selling the whole fantasy book thing, so I am going about it from another side.  I talk up Alcatraz every chance I get because I know a lot of mothers and the children's librarian in town is a friend.  Not a lot of sales now, but just wait ten years or so.

OMG!!! I  thought I was the only one obsess with Alcatraz!! To me that's the best book in the world. I know the book from cover to cover!! I've tried to get my friends to read it but it's not really working. What would you think if someone asked you a book and you said Alcatraz Verses the Evil Librarians there going to give some funny looks.  :) But I hope your right about Alcatraz being one of those big books that everyone's reading.

All I can say is WOW!! The first one was a little scary but the second one was just WOW.  ??? The last sentence in the second one is kinda comical.

I'm a student and it's allot more easier than what you guys do!! I hate school because I'm not very responsible so I ALWAYS forget my homework, planner, lunch or something of importance.

I enjoyed fantasy books from the begin of my life because non-fiction to me is just plain boring. Fantasy to me takes me to a fantasy world were it's just the you and the character and nothing else.
