Hi there! I feel sort of odd about signing up to simply post an ad for a convention. Please forgive me if I'm breaking some sort of rule.
Anyways, as some of you may already know, I've invited Brandon to attend JordanCon, the first convention for fans of the Wheel of Time series. I know not all SanderFans are also WoT fans, but I thought I'd pass along the information for anyone who might be in the area and interested in seeing Brandon. Our other guests include Harriet McDougal, who was Jordan's wife and editor and is currently working on completing "A Memory of Light" with Brandon.
If you're interested, the convention is taking place in Alpharetta, GA (a few minutes north of Atlanta) April 17-19th, 2009. Pre-registration is currently $55. You can read more about it here: http://www.ageoflegends.net/
Thanks!

We *do* appreciate you posting this. Thanks for the information!

You're welcome!
I lurk here on and off, so if anyone has questions about the event, you can post them here and I'll get to them eventually.

Hello again!
I thought I'd drop by and let you all know that Brandon will be doing two writing workshops for us. One will be on setting, the other on characterization. These will both take place Saturday, April 18th. Brandon will also have a signing that weekend, and a panel with Harriet discussing the WoT books that we're still scheduling. But I thought you all would be interested in knowing about the workshops.
Thanks!

Hi All,
This isn't strictly a Brandon related update, but I thought you'd be interested. Tom Doherty, the publisher of Mistborn and TWoT series, is now coming to JordanCon.

Lucky! They never have fantasy conventions in Salt Lake. At least, none that I know of. :(

You know, I never knew of any fantasy/ sci fi cons when I lived in SLC, but apparently there are quite a few. ConDUIT springs to mind, and there's Life, the Universe and Everything in Provo, which isn't too far away.
Douglas! We are neighbors! Come to my convention and befriend me!

Wow, that's close to me as well! I'm goin'! :o

*sigh* If only I were not a student in his final undergrad year...
I'll try and get my buddies over in the physics and engineering department to finish up on that space-time compression business to see if I can make it to the con... if not... NEXT YEAR!

Small world. I live in Roswell. Hello, neighbor! :)

My feelings will be hurt if all of you Rozphrettans who I just met on the internet and are now my best friends do not come to my convention.
So will Brandon's. I'm just sayin'. =)

Nope, I'm a history major, haha. I just have several friends in physics/engineering, since that's mostly what my university does.

The JordanCon website is down, because with 8 days before our first convention, this is exactly what we needed. =)
We've put up a temporary listing of informational links on Dragonmount.com for anyone that needs it.

Please pass this link along for us. I'd hate for anyone to miss the convention because they couldn't find us.
Thanks!
