Books / Re: Best book you've ever read...

That would definitely be Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson [Euol if you don't know...which is like...impossible] I never thought I could read a better book than Elantris until Mistborn came out. I was amazed...simply amazed. He's always had the most unique magic systems I've ever encountered. Good religions as well, a lot to choose from. I never get tired of reading Warbreaker every week or even re-reading Elantris and Mistborn.

I can't wait to read this book, even if it is young adult. Heck, it might even end up on the bestseller list!

Its probably one of those- you can overcome mountains if you just believe in yourself- things. And, of course- wasn't like the rest of the Elantrians. He was very special...I mean- hell, he Loved Sarene.

Oh that just broke my heart. Oh my god....poor Vivena. I mean, she just escaped from whatshisface. I keep calling him Kelsier even though theres like no similarities between the two characters. It'll come to me...anyway- she escapes from the guy with the killer sword and then two people she thought were her friends betrayed  her completely and killed her best friend. Isn't that just horrible? You better not edit that out, Brandon; it was such a great chapter.

Is death back there supposed to be a steel inquisitor. I think they should just use the same one, considering that one was awesome. Does anyone know when the paperback is coming out? I'd hoped to get it for some of my friends for christmas, perhaps Elantris will do.

"And, more than that, the wounds themselves had a dark black twinge to them.  Like they had been infected with some terrible disease."

Typo? Page fifteen. Bottom of page. Tinge?

Vivenna makes me laugh. She doesn't want to be spoiled and difficult, but by going with her beliefs not to, she is. I bet you're having an extra fun time on this book, Brandon.

I completely forgot about pewter, and its only been about a month or so since I last read Mistborn. Perhaps I should read it again. And it does look quite awesome.

Well, I was just sitting there at my crappy laptop [do not fear, internet goers, I shall get a new computer soon. I can be very foolish when picking out electronic sorts of things.] drinking my snapple white tea. [Nectarine, if you were wondering] and I went on Brandon's page. I looked at what Brandon was babbling on about for yesterday. And I saw the cover art sketch teaser. Now, is that Vin, and could that be...a broadsword?

No, child, it can not be a broadsword, for Vin is scrawny, and couldn't possibly even pick one up. Nor could she use metal, for she is a Mistborn and it could cause her injury if she were to bump into an enemy...

Just speaking the weird interworkings of my brain. I just woke up so all of this is quite jumbled, but if I do not even try to get your opinions on it, I will not rest easy for the rest of my life. Perhaps for all of eternity...

Anyways....

Needless to say I became increasingly depressed when I learned that the book wouldn't be out 'till around next July. I suppose it will be a good birthday present.

Though I will rest assured that Tamora Pierce's book is coming out very soon, just about a week. I have been waiting for Terrier to arrive for what seems like forever.

Oh--just thought of one.  James Patterson's Pop Goes the Weasel.  He manages to be ignorant about both role playing games and online groups (the serial killer bases his victims on an online role playing game he plays via email.  Yup.)  Patterson's popular, but I never have any desire to read one of his books again.  Blech.
Well, I've never read that one. But I do like When the wind blows, The Lake House, Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment, and Maximum Ride: School's out forever.

The Secret Country by Pamela Dean.

Basically a bunch of kids make up a different world where they're princesses and sorcerors and stuff. Basically nothing happens. Its actually irritating.

Spindle's End by Robin McKinley

Like sleeping beauty. Basically nothing happens. Don't let that disuade you from reading her other books. They're actually quite good.

I think it would be wonderful if Harry is about to be killed by voldemort and dobby goes and kills him instead.

You'd be surprised. This is really bizzare, but just today I read in some old blog on the Internet about a disgruntled fan who wrote and published a "corrected" version of HP and the Half-Blood Prince. I can't find the exact blog, but here's another link.

What a blithering idiot!
As a writer, this really bothers me. You, a fan and NOT the author of the work, cannot take it and change the book to suit your liking and then *publish* it (granted, it was on the Internet, but still). And you, a fan, are not in a position to say whether or not the author has followed "the true Harry Potter mythos." She created Harry Potter--it's her mythos, loser!!! She can do with it what she wants! And claiming that if you publish it the world and characters become the property of the people is just baloney. What about copyright? This sort of thing makes me really leery of fanfiction--and the people who write it. (If you read in the article about her version, you'll probably laugh at how stupid it is. I did.)

No wonder J. K. Rowling is tempted to kill off her characters--with pyscho fans like this woman!

But, all this aside, it does kind of sound like, with that "hate mail comment" discussed in the first post, that Harry might be in danger. And I'm getting pretty worried about Ron and Hermione, too.

Oh, that just made me crack up. "She just doesn't know Harry Potter like I do"

She's the author. She made him up. She is his creator. That is so fatuous, I cannot believe.
