that is very true. it seems that if the movie is somber and the character has to overcome some kind of great obstacle then they are oscar worthy. So basically that is all movie makers are making now. I feel that has been one of the causes to the large drop in movie ticket sales. Hollywood is putting out cookie cutter movies now it seems. basically all the quarky movies look "harry potter"ish. series of unfortunate events, charlie and the chocolate factory (i know tim burton has always done that kind of style), cat in the hat, the new movie coming out about the kids and the nanny witch, etc. though i don't mind the style, it is just getting played out too much in my opinion.
