So, May 26th
teaser (http://www.apple.com/trailers/fox/x3/)
That is a lot of cast members.
-
Yes, there are a lot of cast members. But Phoenix looks cool, waking up and blowing the door away with her uber-powers (I always liked her in the cartoon--so much conflict!).
But the voice-over by Professor X seemed to be saying that this was the last stand, the final conflict. So is this going to be the last movie?
-
I doubt that. It's been a huge money-making franchise.
-
I like it, and I like seeing Colossus again--it would be nice if he joined the main group, though it's already getting unwieldy. I don't really like Juggernaught though--I can see that I might, but with the few glimpses we've had so far I just didn't get dig his look.
-
Looking over it again, I saw--
Angel, Prof. X, Magneto, Mystique, Juggernaut, Cyclops, Wolverine, Pheonix, Storm, Iceman, Rogue, Beast, Jubilee, Kitty Pryde, Colossus, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, Pyro, and a guy I think might be Mastermind.
That is a lot of people to keep straight and there are still others. I'm not sure who the telekinetic kid with the paper-airplanes is suppose to be. Probably X-Kid.
And there is also suppose to be Omega-Red, Leech, M, Multiple Man, Callisto, Sirryn, and Emma Frost. There are also a lot of people listed on IMDB in the cast but no part is specified.
-
Whoa, I missed Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver--and I watched it frame by frame. Time to watch it again!
[edit]
I still don't see them, or Jubilee, but I do see what I'm pretty sure is a fastball special. There's also a scene with laser fire coming in at a pretty high angle--Sentinels?
-
I looked again, frame by frame. There was a girl standing right of Magneto in one shot. She was dressed all in scarlet so I asssumed it was Wanda. But looking again, it is actually Phoenix. Sorry.
Jubilee is front and center in the classroom.
-
I wondered if that might have been who you were looking at. It's kind of odd that they put Phoenix in scarlet, but I suppose it works with the imagery--and if they don't include Scarlet Witch, then the color is up for grabs.
-
It's really pissing me off that I appear to be the only one that trailer won't work for.
-
Have you installed the newest version of Quicktime?
-
I had previously thought so
but I shall double check.
-
well, I ran the updater, and nada. *shakes fist*
-
I ran the updater too, and it didn't work. See, here's the trick: the updater just updates your current version. It doesn't actually upgrade you to the new version. So go get the new Quicktime from Apple.
-
I watched the trailer, in super-laggy-mode. Stupid quicktime ;(
It looks about what I'm expecting. Here's hoping the new director keeps it as subtle and well done as X2.
-
*swoon ;D

*swoon ;D
For who? I think Angel looks pretty hot. I've always wanted wings, personally (though they're kind of hard to hide).
-
Me, I'm a Hugh Jackman kinda gal. *sigh*
-
For who? I think Angel looks pretty hot. I've always wanted wings, personally (though they're kind of hard to hide).
I've always been an Angel fan, ever since the x-men cartoons of my childhood. Plus, he's such an angsty character. What's more attractive than angst on wings?
-
A girl. :P
-
What's funny is that I have a figure for Angel. My daughter came in the office the other day and saw him and went "Wow! His wings are so big!"
He is rather hard to balance, even with the stand that comes with him, but he's cool
And I finally saw it. Tage was right. Downloading the latest version directly did the trick.

You mean your going to make me pick just one?!
-

Ah, that'd be angst with claws--and brawny good looks, of course. ::)
-

Hey he's all yours. Unless of course you mean Beast, and then I'll fight you for him.
-
Nah. You're welcome to him. I'm over my Beast phase, so far as I can tell. Besides, I'm developing this aversion to the color blue...
Dumb story, but mainly it has to do with the fact that the bedroom in my Boston apt. has been painted what I like to call "Pepto Blue." Ugh. What's worse is that my comforter and stuff is blue also. So I get this odd feeling like I'm drowning in a tide of Blue Pepto whenever I'm in my room. *sigh*
-
Beast is awesome. Kelsey Grammer woo!
-
Speaking of blue, I read Spider-man: Blue last night. Awesome book.
But back to the subject at hand. I really hope Juggernaught is cool, because the trailer doesn't really make a big deal out of him--like he was added as an afterthought. I expect a big bruiser like him to be a little more front and center.
-

You won't get an argument from me on that. It's just that, currently, Beast, given his blueness, doesn't suit my fancy quite so much as the broodingly hunky Wolverine. ;)
-
Blueness has never been a detraction for we fans of Mystique....
-
If I had to be blue to get that figure, I'd do it.
-
haha. I'd go for that in a milisecond.
-
man, i saw the trailer at the king kong movie i went to last night. I can't wait for it, beast looks pretty cool imo. I hope they go through the angel arch (where he becomes a horseman) now that he is in the movie. Having apocalypse in it (the following movies) would be good too. I know that would entail lots of things happening and lots of other people where horsemen, including wolverine, but angel seems to be the most memorable as good to bad then back.
Also, i want to play the game before i see the movie, because it gives us the story as to why nightcrawler isnt in this movie.

Another tasty trailer is out:
http://www.apple.com/trailers/fox/tls/trailer/large.html
There's more details about some of the specific mutants in Magneto's army, but I don't know enough to name them. Look pretty cool.
-
Oh, wow, that's spectacular!! Oh, and I love how the premier is just *two* days before my b-day. :) whoo-hoo!
-
Well, Juggernaut. That's a surprise for me. But I'm pleased. ALthough he's not the abnormally huge freak suffering from Giganticism in every limb of his body. But it looks like they did a good job with him.
He's not really a mutant though.
They didn't really show any of the evil mutant powers. So I can't really say which ones they've included.
-
After some research on IMDB (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0376994/fullcredits)
The gal who says "More powerful than you" is Psylocke.
The mutant who is shown changing beast to not-blue, is Leech.
The kid with the spikes coming out of his face is called Quill.
-
Psylocke? That makes sense. She's in a ton of shots, so I figured she had to be somebody important.
edit: I didn't notice Beast turning normal again, so I went back and watched; very cool. In light of that, I'm pretty sure the black-haired woman at the end is Mystique, leeched of all her powers and weirdness.
My favorite moments are both with Jean: first when they find her body, and Logan is leaning over her, you can see rocks floating in the background. That's a very cool touch. The other is the last line, where she says "kill me"--I think they're going to handle the Phoenix/Jean's return thing really well.
The question remains of who the other evil mutant girl is, the one who claps her hands and makes a big explosion?
-
Actually it could be Callisto instead of Psylocke. The piercings and tattoos make it hard to tell.
I'm thinking the gal clapping her hands is mutant they created for the movie who is unnamed.
-
The hand clapper could easily be Jubilation Lee. She's mentioned in the credits for a minor role.
-
Doubtful is Jubilee. She's hangin' with the brotherhood right? Jubilee is a good guy. And she's shown up in X2 as well.
-
I was just thinking how the sheer number of new and old mutants alone makes this such an ambitious project. It's an awesome undertaking. The plot doesn't look to be any less rich or complex, either. Yay! This bodes well.

ICv2 has an interesting article about Fox's plans with the X-man franchise.
http://www.icv2.com/articles/news/8322.html
Twentieth Century Fox's X-Men movie trilogy will come to an end with X-Men: The Last Stand, which will debut nationwide on May 26, but it won't be the last time that Professor Xavier's mutant minions grace the big screen. In addition to the previously announced Wolverine-based film (see "Jackman to Produce Wolverine Movie"), Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Fox has other spin-off plans including "a Magneto prequel," and a "flick featuring the younger X-Men."
-
A Magneto prequel scares me, because it could be so good but probably won't be.
-
meh, won't play on my PC. In fact quicktime has never liked this PC much.
