In my defense, amphibious means it can function on both land and water. Water on this site, land IRL.

Why am I always defending myself on this site?

And now our amphibious friend has every guy on this site wrapped around her finger. The force is strong with this one . . .

My dice still reside in the clear plastic tube I bought them in. I'm an uber-newb.

Yeah, I'm afraid all of my girl names would include innuendo whether I wanted it or not.

Talking about how a poor, naive mormon girl at BYU thought that he'd have a hangover after 1 beer. It was awesome.

Hepcat is Tim. So the 11 story building was for just the label of "romance novel" rather than the elements you discussed?

My name's Jeff, I program PHP for a living. <lame>I like long walks on the beach and intimate conversations about nothing at all.</lame> I'm a gamer and enjoy reading anything at all from essays on the usefulness (or lack thereof) of conductors for orchestras to Ella Enchanted.

Ironically, McFish might be able to successfully write romance novels because she could steer clear of what she hates about them. I mean, we all read books for the romantic subplots, right?

I thought you were referring to Ms. Fish dating you a little. It was funny. As for vilifying, it was the forum posts I was referring to for the most part. However, upon further inspection, it wasn't that bad. My apologies.  :-[

My only problem with that particular address was how much he talked about hangovers. It wasn't a pleasant topic of conversation for me at the time.

*le sigh* While my actions for that day were inexcusable, what people have failed to notice is that my behavior since then has changed. I must respectfully disagree with Ms. Fish's analysis of my motives. Is it so much of a stretch to think that, perhaps, I did in fact feel bad about what I had done and changed my behavior based on that? Does a change in behavior not partially make up for the fact that I was a complete jerk the first time I met her? Must we vilify someone who changes and shows remorse, albeit only after the fact?

I was there, and the big problem with this con, at least in my opinion, is that Kevin J. Anderson, what I consider a literary prostitute, was the keynote speaker. Mediocrity is his middle name and his flashes of what may seem to be excellence are few and far between. I enjoyed the event and the discussions, it's just that they got mediocre writers.

(yeah, I have a tendency to write like I speak: completely devoid of intelligence)
