sorry it was cut short...due to watching,...
It brings the afterlife into sharp perspective, plus it makes me want to hang out with my dad... and fathers day is coming up,... so if your dad doesnt own it, buy it for him and watch it together..

Ah... but does it have chocolate penguins of doom?

I think not.

Yeah, Entropy, the CPoD are in Bull Durham.  I get those two mixed up too.

Eh, if you've seen one Kevin Costener movie you've seen them all.

What if you've seen 10 minutes of one, 30 minutes of another, 5 minutes of a different one, and WaterWorld? Does that count for a full movie?

not true... Field of Dreams also has James Earl Jones...
and it has nothing to do with Robin Hood, the earth Drowning , angry sioux indians, and delivering the mail under duress, it also has nothing to do with the Navy and spying or rebuilding a boat from scratch or being a western lawman/ cattle drover. It has a little to do with baseball, but much more to do with kidnapping a writer and plowing up a cornfield to see your dad one more time (even if you dont know thats what your doing.

Bull Durham is great too. You can see Beef Burger in it (the cruddiest and cheapest burger joint anywhere near UNCG, my alma mater.

THe best Costner film is also a Clint Eastwood flick. i can't remember what it's called right now.but Costner's an escaped convict who kidnaps a Jehova's Witness kid and makes him go trick or treating. Features a really neat opening establishing shot of costner lying in a field with money blowing all aroudn him in the wind.

yeah that was a great movie....

As much as I dont like Costner some times, he's not a horrible actor, wooden sometimes, but he does make some good movies. I cant think of anything except maybe the Postman and Waterworld that he's been in that was especially bad. Not that I was a huge fan of Wyatt Earp, still Earp gave a much more rounded view of the lawman than Tombstone did.  And hey, he was in SIlverado, one of the best Westerns ever.... :)

Only if in those clips you see his naked butt since thats a staple of a Kevin Costner film.

The message in Field seemed to offset Costner's acting.  Plus, James E. J. is almost always fun to watch.

Waterworld is a great idea, but they way they went about telling the story really fell short of the possibilities.  There's this goal of finding Dry Land, but the biggest problems of living on the water seem to be the bad guys, and finding dry land ain't gonna solve that problem if the bad guys follow ya.  After sinking the Valdez, finding land seems anti-climactic.
