Becoming a more efficient killer!
« on: October 23, 2004, 12:10:24 AM »
So, Americas Army. I've never tried it until now, and I find it somewhat strange. For example.

The medic training consists of four parts. The first three, you sit and listen to lectures about Airways, Bleeding and Stress. And the fourth is a practical. So after 10 minutes or so of sitting and listening, filling out quizzes at the end, it was somewhat confusing that the actual, ingame, mechanic was to hold down a button for 2 seconds while watching a bar move from red to green. Yay... I loved the system in UT2004 Dawn of Destiny where after being shot you fell over and were wounded, unable to move or shoot, and medics could hit you with their medkits of doom to let you move around again. That was cool, made the medic a useful class, made people actually care about a medic. But the usual system of healing people who are busy fighting... that never really works :\

I think I'll use my train analogy.

Much like a train, there is no one way to stop it. There are a few practical ways, but there are also the impractical ways. Brakes are the most practical of them all. Instead, you would wish to find yourself infront of the train, using your feet and such to stop it. Another one is uncoupling the train from the engine so as to slow the rest of it down. All very impractical.

So, like in your given situation, both practical and impractical either way you are given it. So instead of being that man of steel stopper that you wish to be, just clench your teeth taughtly around the nipple of life you were given.

And so ends another.

What would you like me to do? "Medics are medics no matter what they med." Is that it? Is that what you want?

what I want is what I want. And if that's what I want, then it's what I want.

If the deeper meaning of your statement is "medics are medics no matter what they med," I think it's safe to say that silence is the best option.
