hey yeah, that'd be cool.

I've actually got three issues:

I need an article backend.... something like TWG has works just fine (I also want this for my lemur web site). I just want to be able to make formatting changes easy.

It sounds lame, but... I don't know what colors I want. The black and green on that forum are well... more icky to me than they were originally.

And I need to generate content.

So I'm assuming you're talking about design (since that's what you said). Which is issue #2. Since I'm indecisive and time strapped, I'd love to see what you come up with.

ok sounds great.  This is going to be my first html website since before my mission.  To be honest the reason I'm offering is becasue I need experience before I do EUOL's site.

3 things I'll need from you is:

honest critacism (wich I don't think will be a problem) and imput

poke me with a stick (so I'll finish it, I have a short attention span, so bug me alot)

and eventual access to the site via FTP or a filemanager.

Now are you totaly turned off with the color sceme?  Or do you want the same colors, just more expanded (adding more shades of green, grey and maybe another color)?

Do you want more then one deparment (like TWG)? or are you just going to have articles and news only?  Keep in mind we can sort/search for pages useing a meta tag much like TWG uses.

Do you have a database, like MYsql?

Were/how do you want to discuss further plans for the site?  Here?  E-mail? or on WO.org's forums?

we could do it on the WG.org forum, I suppose, so other people don't have to ignore what we're doing. I'll just have to move it back into my regular checking list.

/me gets out his poking stick.

Here's resources I've got: the server has PHP, MySQL, Perl, and just about anything else you could want. I also effectively have no limit on space and bandwidth. Do what you will. I'll have to get the information about my MySQL account. I know I set one up once with the admin, because I have a "random squib" feature that employs it that I've never put into use. I'll email you the information when I have it.

I guess I'm not in hate with the color scheme. I just don't love it anymore, and I wonder if it's the easiest thing to use. THe best I can tell you is try it and I'll tell you if I like it or not.

I'm not sure I need departments, since no departments come to mind immediately. I mean, you could have them on the different genres, but then you have things that apply to all genres. You could do them on "character" "Plot" and so forth, but they also have cross category issues, and nothing appears to be locked in.
On the other hand, if I had regular contributers, I could give them columns, but if we have a meta and author tag, we can just search on that for anything we needed.
So it doesn't have to be departments per se. I'll probably have to decide what sorts of main links I want on the main page still.

Well I had one more article for you to look over (Mekton) it's going to get put up today.  And the the other question was one on legality and plagerism dealing with JP makeing an annotated script for Eva.

I can look over the article in just a few. But the script I think wouldn't be legal. We'd be republishing an original work without written permission. While he'd be annotating it, he wouldn't be making changes to the script itself, therefore not creating a new work. I believe the fair use means that we can quote short passages for review or criticism purposes (or other argumentation) but not re print the whole thing).

Yet I've found an existing fan-made script in many places on the internet?

They will have ignored the legalities. But we don't want to mess with the law here at TWG - Fell could get sued for it.
If you're ever in an argument and Entropy winds up looking staid and temperate in comparison, it might be time to cut your losses and start a new thread about something else :)
