Just wanted to let you know that I still exist, and please keep sending me submissions. I have every intention of responding to them. We'll see how Mathias feels about that I guess.

I've been wondering what happened to you. New little babies take up so much time. My nephew is 3 weeks old--4 weeks now, I guess--and my sister basically just spends her time feeding him, napping when she can, and chasing my 3-year-old nephew.

Yes. I don't have a toddler, but the feeding thing didn't get off to a great start and I'm not ready to give up and go to just bottles yet. So feeding takes twice as long. Sometimes it's very hard to remember that it is worth it. Luckily, I am married and Steve is around to take a shift and let me veg. I can't imagine trying to do this alone.

One of the biggest blessings of this time period for my sister has been that her husband takes Abram when he gets home from work and plays with him out of the house. My sister has a hard time getting out with the new baby, though she does go lots of places--but just going outside to play is hard because she has to split her attention and hasn't been able to find her baby monitor yet. So Abram has been going stir crazy inside, and when Matt (bro-in-law) takes him bike riding along the river and things like that, it not only gets Abram out of Laura's hair, but also gets Abram out into the sun.

Argh. I meant to get the chapter done today, but I got kinda sidetracked. As in, was going to write when I got home from Shakespeare, but was kidnapped to a surprise birthday party instead.  ;D So I'll get it out by tomorrow evening.

Okay, so I don't have Chapter 7 done, and I don't know when I will. I'm stuck. Can I send you guys what I've got, and brainstorm? I've only got a couple pages, and I feel like it's not really moving along, and I don't know how to get her out where she needs to be.

So, is this week a Gemm-story/SE planning week? Just wanted to be sure.

I don't have Chapter 7. Still. It's been 2 months since I've finished a chapter. The session last week really helped get me moving again, but I'm still just plain lazy lately. I need to get back in the habit of writing a certain amount of time every single day.

well, I had hoped to have v. 2 of chapter 2 ready, but I shan't. Had some rough nights and a bad back.

We shall read Gemm and if we have time, help me plan.

yes ma'am. Two old chapters of Peks now revised. I believe one of these chapters was one you in particular disliked. Now we get to hash it out again!

And remember, through an odd chain of events, ASST time is Eastern. Take that into account westerners

What with all this dental stuff that's been going on, I'm not feeling well and I think I need to go to bed early, so I don't think I'll make it tonight. SE, I'll email or IM comments to you some other time, if that's okay.

It's my understanding that there will be no writer's group this week (on Sep 1). Stacy will be entertaining, I think, and I will be preparing to leave for Boston. of course, far be it from me to prevent Gemm, MoD, and JP from meeting (or any of you other dozen on the mailing list and not attending often) but it doesn't seem likely to happen. I hope to have chapter 16 ready for discussion before the 8th, so we can meet then.

Hey, Stacy, I'd consider it a HUGE favor if you were to mark up and send chapters 2 nad 3 of 3.5 in the next day or so. pretty please with sugar on top?
