a new CD out called Dave Lennon.

Is he happy that he's in this song?

...and I am historically one of the biggest fans...

Not only that but he was one of several people named Peter who were thanked in one of the albums, as I recall.
The song kind of reminded me of TMBG's "Dinner Bell."

'Tis the sun?

My favorite Strongbad emails are Kids' Book and English Paper.  (One of my husband's students turned in that English paper, complete with the diagrams at the end.  But no money.  Heh.  He gave it a Z.)

I read a book when I was about seven or eight that I tried to find for years afterwards--I asked librarians, bookstore employees, teachers, fellow geeks, and never found anyone who'd ever heard of it.  Then the internet came along and I got an answer from a kidlit list--The Mystical Beast by Alison Farthing.  So I got it on interlibrary loan and read it, and it was pretty lame.  Ah well.  At least it's not haunting me anymore!

Karen's series sounds cool, though!

Oh!  Remembered something else...

Also in Newfoundland, we got to see a band from Quebec called La Bottine Souriante (which means "the smiling shoe," I think).  We didn't even go see them on purpose, they were just part of a free show on the waterfront for Canada Day, sandwiched in between some local acts.  We were absolutely entranced.  The percussion was mainly provided by one guy's feet--some amazingly talented feet--and they all just had so much energy, and captivated and communicated with the audience so well, despite the language barrier.  It was quite possibly the best concert I've ever seen.  I would pay good money to see them again.

I recognized the Spot song afterwards.  It kept running through my head... an endothermic quadruped, carnivorous by nature... that sounds familiar....

(I still haven't bothered to look up "endothermic," though.  It means heated from the inside?  Warm-blooded?)

We got to see Great Big Sea in Newfoundland.  Wheee!

My husband has Altan and Clannad.  And Capercaillie.  I hope I spelled that right.  I think I like Capercaillie the best of those three.

the only part that I liked was about a paragraph long, and virtually unrelated to the plot.

Was it the bit where the boys were having a contest to see who could make the longest "golden arc" and Scout said she wasn't gifted in that area?  (Okay, that made me laugh... )

The Cormier book that I really wish I hadn't read is Fade.

I recently finished Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell.  It took me about three months to get through it, what with the baby and all.  I did enjoy it.  I had no clue where it was going.

Right now I'm reading Real World Camera Raw with Adobe Photoshop CS, but I can only get through a couple of pages before it puts me to sleep.  Zzzzzzz.

We had a mouse named Leif.  (Do you pronounce it like "Leaf" or like "Ley-if"?)

I'm glad to hear you had a good time!  We've been here for almost five years now.  Coming from Newfoundland I'm afraid I made some rather unfavorable comparisons, but the place has grown on me.

Have you checked out the Underground Tour in Seattle?  I hear it's great fun.

We're probably going up to Mt. Rainier tomorrow.  Wheee!

Yep, they changed it in the first season, I think, and then changed it back in the second season, but still used "Mr. H" a lot (maybe to avoid actually saying the name as much as they could?)  I was hoping they could just sort of dub the Hinkleys back in over the Hanleys.  Oh well.
