well, lets hear it, which final fantasy is your favorite?
-
FF 15, trust me the gnomes that live under my bed says it's so good all other companies stop makeing games after it comes out knowing they'll never be able to match it.
-
6, released in the US as 3. Why? because it's the best out of all two I've played.
-
6 and 9 have to be my favorite, jam you have good taste, and spriggan I played fifteen your gnomes are filthy liars, the leprechauns in my hat were right, all the games after 13 are terrible
-
1-6... mmmmm, nope. 7... everyone said they liked it, buuuut I didn't. 8, nope. 9... sa'right. 10, no. X-2, never. 11, no way. Tactics... it was different.
I guess the one I didn't hate the most would be Tactics. Crystal Cronicles is amusing for a time.
-
I've gotta go with Seven for game play, Ten for characters and story. I really liked the mini-games and the character-creation in seven.
-
Character creation? Isn't that a redundancy in FF's?
-
Heh. That's one of the ONLY things that they change every time. There's always a nifty new way of developing skills and powers and getting characters new abilities. In seven, you had to combine jewel things inside of your weapons and armor.
-
In order: 10, 6, 7.
-
I've never actually finished an FF game since #1, but I'd probably do the same list as Tage, in the same order. I really loved 6, though, so I might have to put it first for pure nostalgia.
-
Tactics. 924 hours of wasted time. I am the FFT 1337 king.
-
Seven for gameplay, ten for characters and design and ten-two for graphics... I didn't even know the PSII had those capabilities!
-
ughh I hated ten-II and i didnt love ten, I cant believe you guys dont like 9! It even had garland in it!! it is the best!!! you gotta love the abilitiy system and zidane's dyne skills, thos were pretty cool.
-
Meh, from what I've played of 9, it's not that impressive. Maybe I just didn't spend enough time playing it...I loved 7 though, and 10 was great. Many people think FF X-2 is just a sell out game conforming to the media (which it partly is), and it has kind of a lame storyline until the end, but its ok. The graphics are incredible, just a little notch up from 10's. Hmmm, let's see...FF2 (4 japan) was excellent, and that's all I really have to say. 8 was horrible though...
-
My favorite FF was the movie.
-
Lol, that cracks me up SE. I agree! Hahahah! ROFL!
-
Yeah, not a fan of FF games,... too much random fighting when you dont even want too.
-
8 made me want to gouge my eyes out...
-
8 had it's problems, but it had the best CGI cutscenes out of all the FF's and probaly the best I've ever seen in a video game.
-
chrono cross had some pretty good cut-scenes...
-
ya they were decent, but they were crap compaired to the quality of FF8's. Even FFX didn't match 8's.
-
I guess, but I still hate 8 with an ardent passion.
-
Spriggan likes FF's, but has a problem with RTS'... hmmmm. Tuche`
-
what the heck is rts?
-
RTS = Real Time Strategy
-
oh... i like rpg's but actually turn based fighting gets kinda boring, thats why i like crystal chronicles, i wish some of the other final fantasy's were like that.
-
3(us), 10, and 2(us). Because those are the only ones I've played so far. And I love the simple yet entertaining plotline of FF6, and it has my favorite music in it (Celes' theme).
I'm gonna play 7 this summer, so we'll see how that changes my decision.
I've heard enough about 8's system to know to stay away from it. I'll download it's cut scenes sometime later.
-
Hey Tekiel, haven't seen you in a while. Anyway, yeah, you'll definately have a good time playing 7...then again, some people say that you can only truly appreciate it if it's the first one you played, but I don't really know...
-
No, I played FFI before FFVII and I liked VII all the same...
-
the only problem I had with seven was the lego people like graphics, but other than that its among my top ten favorite final fantasy games....
-
But there's only 10...besides the online one (which I know you wouldn't like)...and all those crappy ones for game boy (some of the rarely heard of ones are good, though...)
-
that was kinda the joke sam...
-
I like that answer...it has a feel to it like you thought about that response after I posed a good point...I dunno, just whenever you say stuff like that I always point out the obvious in it...
-
X <- no other contenders. It's all about story. Worst part of x= getting the Celestial Weapons. Utterly ridiculous.
VII is next, and once i finish tactics, X-2, VIII, I and II (all of which I am currently playing), I doubt this will have changed.
I liked the way people talked in XII, but they didn't do any character developement after about halfway in. pity.
-
This thread has been dead for 6 years.
Thread necromancy=bad.
Thank you.
The end.
-
On the other hand, it's pretty impressive that the forum has been around for so long.
-
Dang, that's one HUGE thread bump.
Anyways, I'd have to say that my favorite so far would have to be the new XIII, mostly because it's the only one I've made a real effort to finish. I haven't yet, but I'm working on it.
-
As long as everyone else is posting on the zombie thread...
My favorite is IX, by a wide margin. Behind it are IV, VI, and VII. But IX really just takes the cake. It is gorgeous, the characters are wonderful and quirky, the story is deep, but it is still so light and comical. <shrug>
And I'd say that XIII is the worst one in the series so far. The characters are annoying, or just empty, the storytelling is forced at best, and the battle system will happily play itself. Sure, it's the most graphically advanced, but that means next to nothing to me. <shrug>

VI is one of my favorite games ever! Then it goes: VII, Tactics, XII. Most of the other new ones have been seriously disappointing, especially XIII. Talk about a game with no choices! It should have been a movie.
