hello.
i write this to ask anybody who can help me to find a guide of Dink Smallwood, or answering a question:
i have the spell acid rain, and i helped the man who was in the mine. I went to the bar in the town, and i helped a man, that finally was captured by guards. What i should do now?
please answer my question. Thanks

I don't have any idea. However, I have to point out that that sounds like a very ecologically insensitve game: there is a spell for Acid Rain and there is a guy that works in a mine. Are there any people saving trees in that game? I didn't think so.
-
it actually sounds freudian, just by the title. I wonder who the title character is
-
I remember hearing about this game a few years back. Low tech Zelda-esque game that's big selling point was the fact you could create new adventures with an editor right?
Sorry, can't help more than an ID.
-
EUOL played it, so he might know, but I think that's it.
-
I've played it too, but that was about 4 or so years ago. I'm not even sure if the scenerio that he's playing is the same one me and EUOL did.
-
Yeah, wow. Uh, that was a long time ago...not four years, but at least a year ago. I'd suggest just trying a google search. Some nerd somewhere has to have made a walkthrough.
-
Ewwww!
This game was notoriously amateur.
My suggestion is as follows:
1) talk to everyone
2) click on everything
c) kill everything that can be killed, and shoot some trees for good measure.
-
Ya EUOL it was about 4 years ago. You showed it to me when I got back from Japan.
-
You're too hard on it, Entropy. What do you expect for a free game? In fact, I thought it was pretty darn good for the price.
-
Yah, but being a one man game doesn't make it worth playing. It stank. It was like BG... but with no plot, boring action, no characterisation, horrifyingly crap graphics... essentially no reason to play it. Being cheap doesn't suddenly make it worth my time.
-
Sounds like it was exactly like BG, then.
-
It was out well before BG, and I actually enjoyed it far more than BG, which bored me immensely. However, we all enjoy different flavors of games. I prefer zelda-style active-battles, and Dink's ability to toss fireballs and burn up trees amused me.
-
Now I know you're not talking smack about BG.
That game is a 2nd edition AD&D fan's (like me) dream.
Absolutely wonderful...
-
If you *really* want to piss him off, say it's better than Hackmaster. :D
-
I won't say it's better than Hackmaster, and I won't comment on its relationship with AD&D, because I've never played either game. All I know is that BG and it's sequel bored me to tears. I have Icewind Dale 2, which I hear is better, but I haven't been able to bring myself to install it yet.
-
With my new 120 GB drive, I have everything I own installed. Even "Hostile Waters" which I gave a terrible review to a couple years ago. Not that I play it. I dont' even play B/W which I still think is an amazing game.
-
Well.
With such useful advice I wonder if hermez will ever post here again.
This thread, however, does give him an accurate idea of what the forum is like - no practical advice, but a lot of good-natured ridicule.
-
You're only saying that because it's funny and true...
