Role-Playing Games / All Flesh Must Be Eaten
« on: February 12, 2005, 02:22:37 AM »
So I had some time to kill and I decided to pull out my All Flesh Must Be Eaten RPG. I have to admit, I love this game!  An RPG all about zombies, their powers and the way they can kill you.  I ran two All Flesh campaigns with my current gaming group and I have yet to have a campaign last more than one session.  The game is ruthless because it is so easy for the players to die.  I think that this system has the most realistic rules setting that I've played.  The game is pure hack n'slash so if you're into that and zombies, then this is the game for you.

I have the core rule book and the Enter the Zombie sourcebook that is all about martial-art fighting zombies.  I love this game and I am all up for starting another campaign, but I'm not sure my group is up for getting slaughtered again  ;D.

Has anyone else played this game or read the rule book?  Let me know what you think.

Everything Else / Polygraph examination
« on: February 10, 2005, 12:40:45 PM »
okay, so I am in the job process for the University Police dept. to become a security guard for the dorms.  The process consisted of an initial interview, an oral interview with three Officers, a thorough background check where they called all my friends and former employers, and last friday they called and offered me a conditional offer of employment.  Conditional that I pass a medical exam and a polygraph exam.  I had my medical exam last Tuesday and passed, and tonight I have my polygraph exam.

Has anyone ever had to do one of these before?  I have once and I guess I passed, but they never really said if I passed or not.  I'm a little nervous for this tonight.  Anyone have any suggestions... other than not lie on the test?

Movies and TV / Red Sonya
« on: January 18, 2005, 10:53:19 PM »
I was walking through Wal-Mart the other day and I saw that the movie Red Sonya with Ah-nold had been released on DVD.  I was thinking "Sweet!" and I grabbed it and headed towards the register to pay for it.  About halfway there, I couldn't take another step as I realized how horrible that movie really is.  I must have spent countless hours watching that movie over and over again on tv, but I just couldn't bring myself to purchase it.  I think I did a great deed by returning it to the shelf!

Movies and TV / Movies on Christmas
« on: December 23, 2004, 01:30:32 PM »
for the last ten years or so, it has been a family tradition of mine to go to the movies christmas night.  Usually "the family" consists of my parents, myself, occasionally my brother if he's in town, and sometimes my grandmas.  My wife in the other hand feels that going to the movies on Christmas is an absolutely horrible thing to do.  She feels that nobody should have to work on Christmas and  by going to the movies, we make the employees have a horrible holiday.  My argument is that most places that work holidays usually ask for volunteers so the people that are working requested to be there.

I don't know, am I wrong in thinking it's okay to go to the movies on Christmas?

Movies and TV / Dagon
« on: October 27, 2004, 11:48:21 PM »
Man, I saw this movie on the Sci-Fi channel the other night and it was great!  If you're a die-hard Lovecraft fan, you'll love this movie.  The movie is based off the story of The Shadow Over Innsmouth.  The main difference in the movie from the story is that in the movie, the story takes place in Spain instead of the New England area.  Even though it's definately a b-rated movie, the special effects weren't too bad.  The best thing about the movie was that the main character was wearing a Miskatonic U sweatshirt!

I highly recommend to everyone that watches it that they know a little Spanish, because there is a lot of spanish dialogue without subtitles.  If I didn't know Spanish, I would have been irritated throughout the entire movie.

Another great thing about the movie, Uxia, the chick with the tentacles for legs, is realllllly hot!

Two thumbs up from me!  What does everyone else think?

Video Games / Vietnam war games
« on: October 22, 2004, 02:25:33 PM »
Does anyone recommend a good vietnam war game--especially for the Xbox?  I've noticed that a lot have been released lately, and I don't want to waste my hard-earned dinero on a crappy game.

Movies and TV / WWE Wrestling
« on: October 17, 2004, 01:36:12 AM »
Is it just me, or does wrestling really suck now?  Ever since WWE bought out WCW and ECW (extremely crappy wrestling) it seems that the storylines have gone down the tubes... or been hit in the head too many times with a steel chair.  It seems that they're trying to make the schmos into really great wrestlers (which they aren't) because the real talent decides to pursue other careers--prime example is The Rock, Hulk Hogan and Stone Cold Steve Austin.  Now your "big" stars are Randy Orton, Batista, and John Cena.  Who the hell are these guys and what makes them so damn cool that I'm supposed to give over my hard earned dinero to see them?

Granted, there are still wrestlers in there that helped to create the business like Shawn Michaels and Ric Flair, but they're freaking old!  How am I supposed to cheer for them when they come out with a walker or their man-boobs are hanging down to there knees?

Table-Top Games / Praise Munchkin
« on: October 16, 2004, 12:39:26 PM »
Just when I thought living with my in-laws would be hell, I found the simple solution to make all my problems go away...Munchkin.  Talk about a kick-ass game that everyone can play.  And when I'm annoyed as hell at my in-laws, I can stab them in the back or sick a Plutonium Dragon on them.  What a great game.
