I said I'd compare UA and AU 2 months ago, and I haven't even started it.

Okay, okay, so maybe I'm not *that* late.

My next column is supposed to be due the week of Christmas--are you guys going to be posting content that week?  If you will I'll do a Christmas theme, but if not I won't bother.   :)

Never mind, EUOL helped me flesh out an awesome idea for my Christmas themed column, so I'm going to write that one.   :)

Well, then, just for the record, I will be posting articles that week. Y'know, as much as I do any week these days.

OK.  I saw Narnia last night and am writing the review as we speak...  I will have it in the queue tonight.

Pretty please can it be posted tomorrow without fail?

Edit:  Ok.  It's in the queue now.

Hey, guys.  I'm not sure if this question goes here, but it seemed like as good a place as any short of starting a new thread.

So . . . I recently finished this paper for my publishing class, an in-depth profile of Tor. A lot of work, though it was a fun topic to write about.  Turned out to be pretty good stuff, I think. 18 pgs (plus appendices.) It occured to me that it might be cool to post it so others can take a look. Do you think anyone might be interested?

Totally.  Post it on the site as an article.  I'd read it.

Okay. Will do! I need to fiddle with a few things that I noticed when I was handing it in though . . .
But, anyway, I'll definitely submit it when I've done that. Thanks. :)

If you could, make sure it's proofread to perfection.  Even if I weren't slacking off these days, I'd hate to have to run through an 18-page article hunting for typos.

Yep. That's one reason I needed more time. :P I hate finding errors in my own stuff! Besides, I wanted to beef up a section or two before I post it for all to see.

I would highly suggest either cutting the length, or posting it in installments. 18 pages is way too long to read in one web installment.

Good point. I actually wondered about that. I haven't seen many 18-page papers on TWG, after all. So I could certainly give a few sections at a time or something.

One other question for the powers-that-be:  Can I submit it as a PDF so all my formatting doesn't get messed up?

Is your formatting that important?

PDF is pausible, but a little more resource intensive.

what  sort of formatting do you HAVE? PDFs are much less practical than HTML, and there's usually not much that justifies the change.

the biggest PDF issue is compatability... sure you can download the most current Adobe Reader for free, but a lot of folks dont want to, or their verision of their OS wont let them or so on.

Plus it screws dialup folks out of reading the article (yes there are dialup folks in the world)
