Find and Replace is the Spawn of Satan

I was trying to replace the word "stable" with the word "barn " in several places on my current novel.  I accidentally hit enter at the wrong time and instead replaced the word "stable" with a single blank space.  Apparently the stupid thing made eleven replacements.  And I can't very well search for a blank space to find them, since those exist between ALL of my WORDS.  I'm going to hurt something, I swear.

How is Find and Replace evil when you admit that the real problem was user error?

I've realized that, although a girl, I fall into the category of trying to fix things too. I watch myself to make sure I'm not doing it when the person just needs sympathy, but it generally works with my husband, since he likes to also give advice rather than sympathy and likes having someone to talk the problem out with and try to think of a solution. Although, I have to tell him when I just want sympathy so he doesn't do the same back if I don't want it.

actually, I knew that statement was false when I made it. My wife also tries to fix things. Often skipping sympathy.

But it still holds that guys don't do sympathy very often.

I do hope, however, that you were able to do undo, Fishie. That would suck to try to find all those.

I wasn't intelligent enough to undo.  And I realized that it didn't actually replace with a space, it just eliminated the words entirely.  

So my writing group is going to have fun with this one.   Yay.
