I'll be 31 this fall.  :P  Seems so weird that college and TLE days are that far gone.

Wow, long train of TLEers. I just barely overlapped Ookla, e, EUOL, Skar, and several others, all of whom (save Brenna) had left by the time I got back from my mission--which put me on the fast-track to editor, so I can't complain too much. :)

'Course, I graduate in two months, and there ends that particular span of legacy. Hopefully TLE will continue for many years to come, though. *wills himself to not rant against current English Department politics*

TLE has been around for over, what, twenty-five years? That's better than some professional magazines. If it's been able to survive the irritating meddling of the English Department at BYU for this long, it will continue to survive. Chalk it up to the dedicated people who go. Yay for TLEers!

I think TLE has such a long life span because it is not in the business of making money. Instead, its main purpose is to be a gathering place for people interested in the genre and to provide great training ground for the publication industry.

And I have Heather Judsen's Spanish class and Skar to thank for it all.    ;D

Ah, Jeremy.  I remember the day when I was your assistant!  Those were good times.  I tried to get myself credited as "Slave to Mr. Caballero" in one of the issues, but I don't know if Vanessa let it fly or not.

Then you guys took off, and I began my nefarious plans to take over.  <Evil Laughter>

As for Ellen, Sprig, I did think she was pretty, but I wouldn't say I had a crush on her.  I'm not sure who you are thinking about.  If I had been interested in Ellen, I would have asked her out, and I never did--and didn't ever really want to.  The thing was, I got a strange vibe from her.  It always felt like--behind her kind façade--she could barely stand being around so many nerds.  It kind of bothered me.

Of course, it didn't help that any time I said anything to her--no matter how innocent--I got glares from half the women at the table.

Alan did, I believe, ask her out.  Of course, who didn't he ask out....

He asked me out.

And Brandon, those glares from all the women still happen.

Heh. I totally remember that. I think you just ended up being "Assistant to Mr. Caballero" in the masthead.

I remember that, too, Brandon. But I wasn't going to bring it up, at least not directly. Didn't know how you felt about it.  ;D

Dang it, I can't find that issue on my bookshelf. I must have put it somewhere. I have all the issues around it.

And you weren't even at the bridal shower (was it Kaylynn's??) where a group of girls who were virtual strangers found out we'd all been asked out by Alan.
