I've been watching Star Trek and I realized this guy is really hot! It was the episode where he was cloned as an andrioid. He was really hot in that episode, he must have worked out.

Then I saw current pictures of him and he looks terrible! What has happened to Captain Kirk?

I don't know about his looks, but his acting sure has improved.

That, and I have to change my pants every time he's on Conan due to the pee stains from laughing so hard.

Tage and I were talking about his latest CD.  Apparently, a lot of people like it--and it's getting a lot of critical acclaim.

Weird.  Apparently, Shatner isn't a joke--like Wheaton, he weathered the storm, and became cool again.

I always thought he was cool... I... don't know... why.. people... say he isn't.  Come on, he is the reason Star Trek was cool.

I agree with Eagle.  Also he's got a great sence of humor which is see all the time.  I think that's one of the reason's for his "come back", he's an enjoyable person who managed to get onto talk shows dispite not haveing much, or nothing at all, to plug.
Screw it, I'm buying crayons and paper. I can imagineer my own adventures! Wheeee!

Dude!  Wheaton is getting cool again too!  He is a big champion in Digital rights and Sane Copyright advocacy and has a couple books out now!

Also, if it wasnt for Wil I wouldnt have known about Geocaching

He is also a real nice guy (We have exchanged PMs and he gave me some pointers on fundraising when my wife was doing the Avon Breast cancer walk)

Now, I'm not going to argue about how cool he is NOW,

but I'm not sure what you mean by cool "again."

When was the first time he was cool?

Apparently, though this is hard for me to believe, a lot of the young female Star Trek fans (such as the friends I had in high school) liked him. I don't know if that counts as "cool," I always considered it "frustrating," but there you go.

/me admits guiltily:

I had a thing for Wil Wheaton in something like the 8th grade or freshman year of high school. I thought he was cute. But not to the exclusion of the guys around me.

Wil has a column in Dungeon magazine and was relating some old convention stories.  He brought up how it was really frustrating to be at these cons as a teenage and see people walking around with shirts reading: "Throw Wesley through the airlock" and "Beam Wesley into a sun."

Just and aside.

I imagine it was frustrating. I just didn't think he was "cool" before. *shrug*
