But why would Elhokar needed to do that? he was not wounded or damaged in any way, the only thing i can think is that there must be some connection between the chasmfiend attacking them and Elhokars gemstones, maybe someone did try to assasinate him, or maybe he somehow drew the chasmfiend to him or something

He could just be a member of the Seventeenth Shard, though whether a high ranking or a low ranking I couldnt guess, because I am sure he would know of Hoid in his position as Wit.  so it would seem much more likely that he is NOT a member of the Seventeenth Shard

Dalinars vision with Nohadon implies that surgebinders dont need to bond with just honorspren, others work too.  maybe only people bonded with honorspren can use shardplate

alternatively, it could have just been a rock, a special rock maybe, but still just a rock.  I doubt that Hoid had a shard, besides I dont think the shards are rocks, atium was metal, preservation was mist, endowment is colors, seons on sel.  and when sazed took the power of ruin and preservation it wasnt like he found two glowing rocks on the ground

I think that many of these could refer to the next book, 31 seems like a perfect situation for Dalinar to get in, protecting Sadeas against the mysterious parshendi shardbearer, and this is where he would first discover his surgebinding powers

the parshendi could be following the lines of Taravangian, maybe they didnt want all of the highprinces to become unified.  and why did the parshendi agree to the alliance in the first place if they would just kill him? and why did Gavilar want to make a peace treaty with them anyways?

If the shardplate interferes with windrunning, wouldnt it interfere with soulcasting as well? and how exactly does the whole gemstone thing work anyways? how does the plate draw the light from the gemstones?  and is it constantly drawing it out, or does it just do that when it neesds to be fixed?

i dont think they do, but if they do i am calling szeths dad to be somebody super important, he specifically asks people not to call him by his fathers name because he doesnt believe his dad should be assciated with him
