In da movies
« on: February 27, 2004, 02:20:51 AM »
So, Tage, my roommate Earl, Tage's brother, and another friend drove off to Salt Lake this evening to be extras in a Miramax film shooting this evening.  They were told they would be outdoors from 8:30pm until (at the latest) 6:30am.

Can't wait to hear the stories about this one....

No idea.  They weren't telling people beforehand--you just had to go and hope the movie was cool.  I don't even know what time Tage got back--it was after I went to bed, which was pretty late.

Couple corrections:

Fell told me it was a Miramax film, which wasn't correct. Turns out it was just some random indie mormon movie, a la Singles Ward or Pride and Prejudice.

It wasn't my brother Rob. Nor was it Fell's brother Rob. Nor was it any of the other Robs you know. It was one of Earl's coworkers.

Anyway, the short of it is: it was fun. We got home at 8am, I got 4 hours of sleep, and only had to take a half-day "sick" from work. We were extras in an ice-skating scene, which was scary for me since I hadn't been ice-skating since I was 12. I met some fun people, and a group of us spent roughly two hours playing Scum during various waiting periods.

So anyway, it was worth it, if jsut to see the filming process in general.

Cool!  Wasn't 'being in movies' one of your career choices for a while?

Or maybe it was directing. . .

Whatever it was, I'm going out on a limb and saying it wasn't being a Scared Page.
