Hey how about more synonyms!!!
peronal and individual

Ethics is a personal code that define values
morals are the values held by an individual
as well as the community - but for the point lets just say, ethics defines personal morals - okay. screw the community.

ooh by the way saint, you hd to use that mighty word again.
and by the way again - I never said anyone couldn't state something.

I have an if

what if god was real, and what if you were never informed  in anyway upon his being, then what? just curious.

by your definitions of ethics and morals, ethics defines morals
because ethics defines values as said in the definition
and morals are the values held .. etc..

if God really exists, then it doesn't matter what logic or reason you used to try and deny it, he'd still exist

That is true. Obviously true.
But were talking about something like god which has not, and - well, fairly put can not be proven, a matter of faith, and the big mighty word, IF.

But I can deny god exists, because God is intangible, and it wouldn't "bite me". That's why the analogy doesnt work. and that's what tangibilty has to do with it.

You can easily touch the rattlesnake correct? Therefore it is Tangible - if you touch it it will most likely bite you.
Can you touch god? if you can, well hmm.. I haven't found that one out yet.

Essentially its a bad analogy.

It is queer how things turn out that way

If "god" created humans - and made them beings with such complex thought processes as humans do compared to other animals, could "god" not have let it to humans to create their own morals,  the only thing I can see is that "god" gave humans the potential to have morals, because people have different morals.

Rhetorically

Can you prove God to be tangible?

At least I can prove the snake is.

sorry to say Gorgon your belief in god wouldnt matter to Ookla. It like a rattlesnake, you can belive in it or not belive in it but if you wave your hand in front of it your still going to get bit. Thats not proof that morals come from anywhere.

excuse me, but I must say making an analogy of something intangible like God to something tangible like a rattlesnake does not work.
correct me if I am wrong
