I hope they don't change Harley's stats any (so my LE is still legal) and that one of the jokers keeps the hypertime unique's dial.  I don't think I'm going to collect the whole set but I do like those sculpts.

here's a question: What do you think of DCs new logo? I actually don't like it all that much. I prefer their old logo.

dang it!  The new version of Quinn sucks and the Starter version of the Joker is more like the old Quinn.  Gerr....http://www.wizkidsgames.com/heroclix/dc/figuregallery.asp?releaseid=52

The joker really isn't that bad, but I can't use my LE quinn in restricted tournys anymore.

Dang nabbit.  Looks like the new version of flash will be coming out around the same time of Icons, so now it's do I buy Flash 8 or Heroclix?  Probably be flash since we never play anymore.

WK has started to post BFC and feat cards and wow their cool.

http://www.wizkidsgames.com/heroclix/dc/figuregallery.asp?unitid=8452

Submerged 5 pts
Choose a character.

(Optional) When the character occupies water terrain, lines of fire drawn to it are blocked.

http://www.wizkidsgames.com/heroclix/dc/figuregallery.asp?unitid=8448

Rally
Whenever the character with the highest point value remaining on your force is eliminated, remove one action token from all characters on your force, as applicable, and then remove the eliminated character from the game.

***************************************

http://www.wizkidsgames.com/heroclix/dc/figuregallery.asp?unitid=8444

Infiltration

When placing characters at the beginning of the game, characters with Phasing/Teleport, Smoke Cloud, or Stealth showing in their stat slots may be placed into hindering terrain up to half their unmodified speed values away from their starting areas. In addition, characters with the dolphin speed symbol may be placed in water terrain up to half their unmodified speed values from their starting areas.

With atlantis riseing, submerged and infiltration you will all learn to fear Black Manta especially since submerged cannot be negated by Ultimates or Superman.  ;D

The starter Joker didn't excite me, but check out the normal REV: http://www.wizkidsgames.com/heroclix/dc/figuregallery.asp?unitid=8434

That's some awesome stuff. I really like what they've done with this set, and despite the possibility of repeats I think I'm going to need to buy a whole bunch of it.

I agree.  I love the starter Joker's sculpt though.  Heck the non-starter Robin's sculpt is very cool too. And once again there are some awesome feats and BFCs.

I plan on getting some too, though how much and when all depend on my cash situation.  It's coming out the first week of September I should have enough to get a starter and a few boosters then but since I just shelled out $90 for SWM I'm going to wait a month or so before buying lots of HCs.

Finally we get to see the new Batman...and he's pretty much the same as the old Batman. I love the new sculpt, and the old Batman is still one of the better figures in the game (comparing power to points), but I was hoping for something new. I don't know what, just...not this.

One one version has a team ability too, that's got some up in arms.  It is different the the Hypertime one but not much, but it's supposed to be a replacement for Hypertime.  If you want one significantly different use Legacy bats.

Post by: Fellfrosch on August 26, 2005, 12:51:12 PM
See, that's the thing--I didn't like any of the Legacy Batmans very much, because they were too different. And now I don't like this because it's too not different. I think I'm just impossible to please.

Bunch of new Figs are up.

Bizarro-Kinda dissapointed in him, was hopeing for a backward's Superman stats wise (ie like the hulk).

Cyborg-eh, much like the old REV

Flash-very cool, HSS and Quake for the first 4 clicks or so so it's a 99 point version of KC flash.

Wonder Woman-Nice Sculpt but kida the same stats.

Ra's- Similar to the Legacy one but much more leaderish with 2 clicks of Leadership, outwit and perplex for under 80pts.

Sups is up.  I'm a little disapointed that he's better then KC Sups for less the points (no leadership).

Now with Darkseed and Icon Superman you'll see less and less U Thor teams which I guess is a good thing.

That's a very good superman, and one that actually makes good use of force blast (clicks with high damage and relatively crappy attack). I was bugged beyond measure when the figure description mentioned that his JLA free move made running shot and charge more attractive--does they're new writer even know how to play? I can't believe they turned me down in favor of a guy who doesn't know the difference between a move action and a power action.

Well, it's final.  I posted all my figs for sale on eBay.  We'll know what the take is Thursday night!

I'm still up for playing whenever.  I just have no figs is all.

It happens with me and collectible games.  I get to a point that the whole collectible aspect really starts to bug me.  It's fun for a while collecting the figs/cards/etc., but after a while it feels like a burden.  The same thing happened to me with Magic.

They're still fun games, and I still like to play them, but I just don't like to collect them anymore.  And my minimalist-materialist nature will not let me keep a collection of something that I don't collect anymore.  So I sell my stuff and have money to invest in whatever other collectible game that will interest me for a while.  Or I buy pizza.

Well Media play has lots of them in, and only place in Utah county with them, and I picked up a starter and 4 mini-boosters (the 2 figure ones).  The starter is a great deal for only $13 since you also get cards in it as well (and they aren't listed as being included).  Unfortunately Icons uses the old factory so the paint jobs aren't that hot.
Title: Re: DC Heroclix: Icons
Post by: Fellfrosch on September 19, 2005, 12:17:39 PM
Are the cards messed up? I can only assume that they are, or they wouldn't bo offering to rectify anything.

Post by: Spriggan on September 19, 2005, 12:32:40 PM
In the Boosters yes, the ones in the starter are fine.  The paint jobs are somewhat worse then normal too, from the looks of things it seams the old factory was upset about loosing the WK contract so told their workers to do a crappy job.

Post by: Spriggan on September 23, 2005, 12:20:54 AM
I'm glad WK is going to offer all the cards in a promo since out of 8 boosters I've only got 3 different ones.

Also the figure distribution is horrible, out of those 8 boosters

5 ravens (yet no REV set)
4 Starfires (no REV either)
3 Experienced Jokers
2 experienced Cheetahs
2 experienced Darkseeds

It's probaly the worst % of repeats I've ever gotten from a pack of boosters.
Title: Re: DC Heroclix: Icons
Post by: Fellfrosch on September 23, 2005, 04:57:29 PM
That's absolutely terrible. If I buy a 2-piece booster, do you suppose it will have two of the same guy in it?
Title: Re: DC Heroclix: Icons
Post by: Spriggan on September 23, 2005, 05:05:30 PM
Hope not, but they are a slightly better deal since for 3.99 you get 2 figs and a card while the full booster is 7.99 for 4 figs a 1 card.  Though the cards are totally trashed and I'm sick of pulling L-Ron pogs and Siphon Power.

Also since you can just trade things in at Media Play to get said small boosters makes it less painful to get repeats.

From Bro_Magneto in WK forums about the card replacement:

OK kids:

We'll need either 4 UPC symbols from Booster Packs or a Starter Set...

OR...

4 of your damaged cards.

More details to come.
