A lot of times they are dressed in slacks and a dress shirt on their way to work on the train or sitting in an office between things when they read.

Pretty sure a pair of cargo pockets on slacks would look very odd.

I was just joking.  I know enough about Japanese culture to know that that would be odd.

No.  Japanese people like small paper back books that easily fit in pockets so Elantris was divided into two books and Final Empire was divided into three.

Why don't they get bigger pockets?  I wore cargo shorts and pants in high school so I could fit Wheel of Time books in them.

They run on smoke?  That would explain why I have a F in my comp sci class right now!  I thought it was moth balls!  On the positive side, no one wants to steal my smelly computer now.

In the end, this cover is a million times better than any of the Mistborn ones, and especially that boring Warbreaker one.
I loved the hardcover of The Hero of Ages.  Vin atop Kredik Shaw surrounded by Inquisitors cloaked in mist was chilling.  But I agree that Warbreaker has a boring cover, which doesn't bother me that much because I've actually read the free eBook version more than my hardcover.  It's much easier to keep a PDF on a flash drive than lug a hardback around.

not that it matters, though, i always take the book covers off of my books as soon as i own them. i HATE bookcovers, and i generally get hardback books.
I aways take the covers off.  I think the books look more sophisticated with a plain cover with the name and author on the spine.

The front cover is already impressive enough, but the wrap around gives a huge sense of scale.  I can't wait to experience one of these giants storms!

I think RTS would work well.  One of the buildings would be a beating house where you sent people to try and snap them like the nobles do.  That would probably be a little dark for a game though.
Maybe Preservation's side would have an ability where you can cover all your troops in mist and hope they snap.  And then a couple weeks later you can use them!...after the battle is over.

I hope he comes to Texas.  But by the time he does, I'll be at college and I doubt he'll come to Waco because there's nothing there except my college!  But Dallas is pretty close.  I could drive up there for a tour.

Naw Elantris would have to be more like Resident Evil, where you play the Zombie!
Yes, acting like a brain obssessed zombie totally won't mean the torch for you and all of your Elantrian friends.  But why would you act like a zombie anyway?  No one goes into Elantris.  Unless you're going to attack Serene.

I think Elantris would be great if they made it in the style of Baldur's Gate II or Planescape Torment. A story and dialogue driven rpg.
Now I'm going to be awake all night thinking about how awesome this would be.

My major thing is if I'm reading a series, I want to try and get the whole thing in one format (paperback or hardcover).  I started with Mistborn in paperback, so I wanted the whole trilogy in paperback, haha.  With Warbreaker, I'm around for the hardcover version to come out and it's a oneshot (I think?) so I'll be getting it just about as soon as I can physically make it to the bookstore after the hardcover comes out.
Same here.  I bought Hero of Ages when it came out in hardback and I had to recently buy it in paperback so it would match the rest of the series.  Elantris is in paperback as well.

I will take any McGrath cover over the old paperback cover any day. That said, I'm a bit bummed that McGrath didn't go with a more washed-out/hazy look for the covers like he did with Jim Butcher's and Kat Richardson's novels. Considering the mist in Mistborn, I think he missed a great opportunity.

Too right.  The Dresden Files' covers are great.  The stories take place in Chicago, which definately is not as misty as Luthadiel.
I love the Dresden Files and their covers.  Those would have been really cool.

The Vin on the paperback cover looks so much like one of my cousins that it causes this weird cognitive dissonance whenever I see it. Really kind of disturbing.

I thought the paperback cover for Final Empire was the worst. Oddly deformed Kelsier + Grim Reaper Inquisitor = FAIL.
Yes, this greatly bothers me as well.  When I bought the HoA paperback the other day I saw a version of the FE cover that was done in the style of the later releases and wanted to buy, but I'm poor.  I was already buying a copy of a book I already own, no need to buy two!
