Has no one mentioned The Dukes of Hazzard yet? Or Hee Haw? Okay, so neither are specifically kids shows, but it was our Friday night habit to watch Hee Haw, then Dukes of Hazzard, then Dallas (yeah, I didn't care about that one as much, though I remember the show in which J.R. was shot).

I used to daydream that the Dukes were my real family and that I'd been kidnapped or switched at birth. And then they'd come and rescue me, and we'd drive off into the sunset in the General Lee.

/me hides all pictures involving his high school hair.

Course, that actually had nothing to do with the Dukes of Hazard, which I was never much into (darn hicks!) and everything to do with not understanding what sort of relevance PAYING someone to cut my hair had to with, well, anything.

What about that one with the semi-realistic talking dinosaurs? I think it was called "Dinosaurs." With the baby and the father, I think his name was Earl.

Heh.  Dinosaurs doesn't count as a show I loved when I was a 'kid.'  (Unless you count brain-dead teenagers as kids....)  However, that was a cool show.  It had such a twisted, clever sense of humor.

It all comes back to 9.

"NOT THE MAMA!!"

Funny stuff from the same production company that gave us all things Muppet.

And speaking of Muppets, I loved Muppet Treasure Island.  I have seen it a doxen times and it still makes me laugh.

Okay, for all those who listed Land of the Lost as a favorite, what did you think of the updated version they did a few years back?

to be honest, I loved Muppets from Space too. They packed more movie homages and references into that flick than Galaxy Quest, and it was funny.

yes, I still watch Sesame Street too.  They don't do enough funny covers of songs anymore.  Or, if they do, they get the real band to do it, which is actually pretty cool. I enjoyed the Goo-Goo Dolls, REM, even the Destiny's Child spot was good, (they were all wearing modest clothes!)  And Wayne Brady.  I love him.

What I miss are the things like "Teeny Little Super Guy" or the sketches that didn't really teach anything at all, (like the cartoon about the cat who's trying to open the can of food while his owner is on the phone.  What does that teach you- not to ignore your cat?)

If you like Sesame Street I recommend Between the Lions--it's what Sesame Street used to be before Elmo's World started it down the road to mediocrity.

And as one of the guys on the forum with a young kid, Fell's probably an expert at watching shows like that.

I remember tending my sisters and getting to watch the My Little Pony movie over, and over, and over, and over....
