Title: Soundtracks
Post by: 42 on May 05, 2004, 12:58:55 AM
So I've been watching "Man from Snowy River" and I realized that it has a really good soundtrack especially since I haven't heard it in several years. So I'm wonderig what people here think of soundtracks and what are some good soundtracks out there?

Some Kind of Wonderful and Pretty in Pink. Actually, of the two, Pretty in Pink is generally acknowledged to have the better soundtrack (mostly because of the bigger name artists) while Some Kind of Wonderful was the better movie, but they both are really good listens.

Rush has an excellent Soundtrack composed by Eric Clapton.

I would also recommend Fantasia and Swing Kids. (not even getting into your standard John Williams responses, and LotR)

City of Angels, while being a really really dumb movie, has a great soundtrack.

I've had this soundtrack for years. It's been my favorite movie since I saw it in the theater in 1982 (wow, that was a long time ago), and I had to special order the CD, but it is so worth it. When I had a car, it was my speeding music.  ;D

Last of the Mohicans is a great soundtrack. Is it John Williams? I'm not sure.

Oh, and the soundtrack for My Best Friend's Wedding is fun. Lots of sing-along potential.

I didn't really care much for the movie itself, but the soundtrack to Moulin Rouge is pretty good.  I like a lot of the ones other people have mentioned too.  My other favorite soundtrack is from Dirty Dancing.  Good music!

Also, the music from many of the Disney movies are fun to sing along to.

Last of the Mohicans isn't john williams, it's actualy 2 different people.  One person did the first half of the movie and the other did the second half, that's why there's no theam in the music like lots of soundtracks.

And to add my fave:  Braveheart.

Really I found a theme in the LOTM soundtrack... I mean its not like the Modern rock slipped into Costners Robinhood.
