So what is it?
What is your favorite word?
I am doing something interesting with words in a project I'm working on and would like some insight.
To start it off, my brother's favorite: onomatopoeia
-
My favorite word is defenestration.
-
Great word, dhalagirl.
-
My favorite descriptive word is gelatinous.
-
I humbly submit verbiage.
-
I have encountered the word contumelious for the first time. There aren't many words that I have to look up in a dictionary.
-
Fantasticate
-
Fungible.
(Am I allowed to submit two?)
-
Similar to Ravenstar: verbosity. or perhaps loquacious
I like to talk to people about how much one of us is talking.
-
Wizard.
-
I'm surprised that no one has mentioned antidisestablishmentarianism yet. Heck, I'm surprised I remembered how to spell it!
-
Discombobulation. Circumlocution.
-
Pontificate. Obviously ;)
-
Borracho, which means drunk in Spanish. So much fun to say.
-
Hi! Newbie here. Thought I'd chime in with my favorite word ever: hyperbole. Makes me want to drink coffee and throw a big heavy ball at some white things.
-
Orangutan is my favorite word in any language (with the possible exception of pickelhaube).
-
What's a pickelhaube?

Not only is that a good word, that is a funny thing.
-
Fantasticate
-
Fantasticate has already been said.
Not that there is anything wrong with it, it is a pretty awesome word.
I pick CHEESE
(My brother is saying egad. I'm not sure if he's surprised, or if he is trying to submit it)
-
Flaccid. i love the two c's. or dweomer. that just flat out looks wierd. sigh. there are just too many out there :)

Perhaps he's being economical with his words, and doing both simultaneously?
Ooh, simultaneously. I like that word. At the risk of sounding morbid, though, my favourite word is probably anguish. I just love the sound of it, particularly the "gwish" bit at the end. Hubris is another of my favourites, but I blame that on classical civilisation A-level.

I love that word too.
The other day one of the gals in my writing group described one of my characters as creepertastic. I like this word too.
-
honorificabilitudinitas
"the state of being able to achieve honors".
floccinaucinihilipilificatious
"small or insignificant". Also the longest word in the English language.

Wow! That's longer than a Polish surname!
-
Albuquerque. Just make sure to take a LEFT turn. http://tinyurl.com/3rvkyn

My favorite word ever of all time is:
Non-contradiction
On my WoW hunter, my first three pets were named
Anathema
Antithesis
Apotheosis
All good ones.
-
susurration
Blame that on Terry Pratchett.
I'm now in love with Albequerqe, anathema, egad and borracho with the proper rolling of the double-r's. Great words. I'll work on a sentence using all those words unless someone else beats me to it. . . .
-
I tried to play senesce in Words with Friends the other day and it wouldn't take it. Made me mad.
-
Egad! In Albequerqe, it is anathema for such things to occur to such a one as Peter, who has no doubt never been completely borracho. At least not on record, the susurration of which would make its way to the BIG CHEESE himself.
Two sentences, I know, but I added another great word.
Susurration might have come from Lemony Snickett. But I would rather it had been a Tiffany Aching thought bubble.
Another awesome word: quixotic
-
Septuagenarian is pretty awesome.
-
my friends that are not on twg favs: blind and precipice. don't ask me why.
-
