Officially it was cutbacks.  Unofficially I'm going to keep to myself until I find out whether I have any legal grounds.  Perhaps I can safely say that we found it interesting that out of the two dozen or so who applied, no female candidates were either interviewed or hired.

I'm trying to update my resume right now.  There are some interesting postings on hotjobs.com

If you feel like getting retribution through doorbell ditching we could probably arrange something... ;) :-/

LoL.  Chuck, our security guard, would probably get a kick out of that.  He cried when we told him.

Just say the word...

That's sweet that he cried.

It was probably because you were so mean to all those sweet teenage employees.  :D

No, if that were the case, I would have been fired by Overstock.com. This was a Sento decision.

Fuzzy, that very much sucks!!! (And now I feel bad about pestering you about the private messages...)

Definitely find out if you have recourse...but...

What do you want to work in? Would you be interested in something like manga rewriting or translated Japanese novel rewriting? I wish that was something I could just give out (it's not), but I can put you in touch with people...(the pay period for freelancers sucks though, as you don't get paid until 90 days after you invoice. Manga rewriting is very easy though, as far as hours per job (you're paid by the book)...novel rewriting takes a lot more skill and is not nearly as cost effective, but it's a lot more than just glorified editing...) Not sure what's available right now though...
All Saiyuki fans should check out Dazzle! Emotionally wrenching action-adventure and quirky humor! (At least read chapter 6 and tell me if you're not hooked.) Volume 10 out now!

I would totally be interested in something like that.  I'm going to be doing whatever I can in the meantime to make ends meet, but if you could connect me with anything that's available, I'd probably enjoy doing it!

How are you sure they didn't already have some people lined up for it, Oseleon?
