I am very amused at Scott's newest poke at furry lovers. I'm not one who really understands the point of furries either.

this is a link in the PVP forum I must say that it was one of the scarriest things I've ever seen.

But it looks like a lot of people got offened with the cartoon and have been calling Scott a raciest and Biggot on the forum.  Sad and Scarry at the same time.  But My new hero is Aaron Williams who does the Nodwick comic I've never seen someone make as much sence while mocking morons.  He puts all of you to shame  :P

The reason that furries get ssuch a bad rap is mostly due to the huge amount of furry porn that you can find in any comic book store you walk into.  Personallyy that sort of stuff has never made any sense whatsoever to me (although I kinda liked Omaha at one point, but that one actually had a PLOT to it), and don't even get me started on the people who find erotic stimulation by dressing up like furry animals.

I WILL say that there is a lot of great furry (or, to use the original term, anthropomorphic) stuff out there done with a lot of class and style.  You need look no further than Usagi Yojimbo, a very cool book about a samurai in ancient Japan, who just happens to be a rabbit.

I'm a HUGE PVP fan and Scott's jabs at Furries certainly made me chuckle.

I just couldn't believe the backlash he got from that.  That's two comics, KODT and PVP, I've seen where someone pokes a little fun at Furries and suddenly has the whole Furry sub-community screaming about biggotry.  Sense of humor, people?

I can't say I understand the Furry thing either, but to each his own.

In it's own way, it is sort of akin to how role-playing gamers got so riled in the late 70's to mid 80's whenever any non-gamer made any offhand reference (no matter how innocuous) about gamers being wannabe Satanists who could not function in normal society.  Gee, was it really that long ago?  I am starting to feel my age.

The thing that surprised me was that Chris from Polymer City Chronicles got all riled up about it. I hadn't ever thought of PCC as a "furry" comic, but apparently the author does. Well, I guess Kurtz certainly accomplished what he set out to do.

from what I understand Scott does it on purpose just to get a rise out of people.

Much like Eric Snider (http://www.ericdsnider.com), I imagine. Of course, I always laugh along when Snider offends the easily-offended, and I have to admit I thought the fan reaction from the furry crowd was kinda funny. I just thought Chris wouldn't be so... touchy, so I was surprised.

Yess, PCC is a furry comic, but what about Cerebus?  Is that a furry?  Or just a leathery?   :P
