I suppose to keep my reputation, I have to point out how idiotic this response is. There is, at best, one album (
Dark Side of the Moon) that is ARGUABLY a blues album, because it uses a lot of blues driven imagery and musical structure. Everything before and since has been much more psychedelia driven.
The Wall comes closest to being another exception, but two albums in a 40 year career does not a blues band make, even were I generous enough to grant those two being actual blues album (and frankly, they're not).
The point is, ONE band that is cross-genre blues/country does not mean that all of country music is blues. It's not. The thematic material is substantially different. The rhythms are related but don't qualify as the same. The sources of inspiration and motivations diverge greatly. There isn't any reason to rationally say that country is blues and mean it.
