More Work Rant

Why the hell am I even here?

I've had 2 phone calls in the last three hours, for a total of maybe 10% of my time actually working. Yeah. SEND ME HOME! No one's gonna call. It's the day before a holiday. It IS a holiday for more than half our customers. There's nothing gonna happen that won't wait till Monday.

SE, one thing that I think you know by now is that, given the opportunity, people will, as a rule, take the path of least intelligence. I think that this is what you have unfortunately encountered. Find an online game, or music to occupy your time, and try to make the best of it.

See, I'm on the other end of the spectrum.  I do accounting, and today is the last day of the fiscal year.  So we're busy.

well, the finally stopped dorking around. and they let us go 20 minutes early. Yay. So here I am, at home, getting ready to drive for 6 hours for the week. have fun.

I hate how stingy people are this time of year. I had to carry tons of wine to peoples cars today, in the rain, a good distance, and I barely even got a thank you....

I don't know where I am.  It's the day before a holiday, but we have a million people calling us to whine about why can't we ship their items out NOW and still ahve them get there before Christmas.

I am stuck at work and am very very bored because I have nothing to do except answer the occasional question and take escalated calls from angry people who think I can do magical things.

same here.
I was busy when I first arrived, now everyone has called me saying they wont be at the hotel until after 1 am. So I've got 3 more hours to goof off until my manager may or may not come to take the next shift.
