I wish I had an odometer on my bike. I really have no idea how far it is between my house and the church, but I think it's 3 miles, maybe 3.5. So I rode my bike to the FHC this morning--3 miles, we'll say. Then I was going to ride it to the bridal shower, but got a ride instead (and then back to my bike), for which I'm grateful, because getting myself home from the church was enough bike riding for me for the day. I'll say 6 miles, maybe 7. I feel very fit.

Progress report: I weighed in today. Since this challenge began (around near my birthday a month ago, right?), I've lost about 8 lbs. I want to say 10, but weight fluctuates so easily for me depending on what time of day it is, etc. I'm 5 lbs. below the baseline I'd been at for a while, though, so I see that as a triumph overall. (I had had that setback at my birthday involving a lot of cheesecake, if you'll recall.)

After stretching and exercise and a two-day rest from both, my back is feeling much better. The best news is that the heatwave finally broke yesterday and I will hopefully be able to resume walking.

I haven't noticed much progress overall, except that I can now do one or two full sit-ups. I am starting to have more energy which is helping me to think more aout what I'm eating and try to cook things that are more healthy.

Ok diet update... I weighed myself today and I weigh 193 pounds... wooo!!!!

Im still running (or walking and running) for at least 30 minutes a day, although I hit a bad patch last week.

one thing I learned is to avoid salty snacks unless your working out like crazy and drinking tons of water...
It makes you retain water.... lots of water 9 pounds worth of lots of water....

Ughh

Well the good news is that my face is thinner and I've lost that second chin (always nice) and Im feeling better.

How are you guys doin?

I'm feeling discouraged. I'm not sure what it is that keeps making my back sore. Maybe it is my bundle of joy who grows faster than my muscles can recouperate.

I did walk two miles yesterday. Today we have the Santa Ana winds, and so I wasn't able to go out. I may be able to walk a mile or so this evening, when my husband can watch Mathias for me.

It would probably help if I actually measured my inches so I could track progress, but my tape measure is in my sewing kit that my old roommate took accidentally and I haven't been able to get her to remember to send it back.

I'm holding steady. I plan on going for a bike ride in the morning. Now that I'm off work I have to really plan out my day so that I don't waste time (ha, this I say on TWG). Working at home is getting better--I cleared off my desk over the weekend so I can actually *use* it, so I'm becoming more organized for working, which means that I can allow myself the time I need for other things, too.

Well cheer up MOD, and dont give up, ... if you have a local pool, maybe you could do some aqua aerobics (a lot of public pools have classes... oddly enough the Coast Guard introduced this in bootcamp a few years ago and it works great!) ,... or swim a few laps,  its easier on the back and your still getting some exercise.

Stacer I completely know what you mean... I work the night shift at our call center 2145-0545 or as I like to call the midnight cowboy shift. If I dont schedule my day after the shift,... its completely wasted I end up sleeping to 1700 hanging out with my wife till about 2100 and then leaving for work. Nothing accomplished and no reason to accomplish it.

Im happy your maintaining.... that shows that your making a lifestyle change... and it doesnt take much to push you back into the weight loss side.

Yesterday: Denise Austin Daily Workout (20 min aerobics) plus abs and arms. Later in the day, 20-30 minutes of biking (getting around town).

Today: Went for a 3 mile walk/run. Only about 5 minutes of running time, but I'm proud of myself for that. The reason is that when I go running, I often push myself to the point that I'm *really* sore for days after. Which means I rest for several days because I hurt. Today, I feel like I did just enough. The walking was speed walking, pumping my arms and legs, so I feel like I still got a lot out of it. Then when I got home, I did abs as well. And, of course, lots of stretching.

Eating has been pretty good on the calorie side, too, because I went to the dentist *again* yesterday, so I didn't eat much. :( But today will be healthier and I'll even get to eat that apple that has been on my desk, begging me to eat it.

yesterday I ate two poptarts. Also, a healthy pile of fritos with manufactured french onion dip. For lunch I had chicken casserole (with cream of mushroom and cream of chicken soup and sour cream in the mix). Dinner I had grilled cheese. I need a few more vegetables.
