News:
"Magic is what makes fantasy fantastic," someone says, "you can't apply rules to them or else it loses wonder!" I respond, "Sure, but if you want to write them you will certainly want to know how they work." Writing is all about execution, and I find applying some basic laws of physics to magic systems make them more understandable and realistic. Here, I'm going to outline my basic method for developing a magic system.

Well.
I go by Clarissa, and I am utterly obsessed with writing.
I write stories with a hint of fantasy, to stories about aliens wielding magical swords.
Alas, I really get busy, and lately I haven't been writing as much.... Maybe it's because I'm online... no, that can't be it...
I am trying to revamp a novel I've been working on for some time now. Yes, it is the one with aliens and swords.
No stories published yet, unless you count the literary magazine at my high school.
And, like vegetathalus, the ending currently is bad. So that is the main goal of my writing.

Most fan fics that I've read are at least halfway decent.
But that's because the majority are crap in the first paragraph, and I think "I'm NOT going any further with this."
So, yes. Even though it's redundant, a select few fanfictions are good; the majority are drivel.

Well.
Clarissa, from Nebraska. I've been a fan of Brandon's writing for a time, and I just stumbled on a link here on his website. Don't know why I've ever not been here before.
I like writing, I read mainly scifi/fantasy books, and listening to various music types. Really, my iPod is one eclectic mess of songs that don't follow any trend...
Also, I am very German, for an American. 75% German and 25% European mutt, but I'm also learning the language and history. I would really like to visit Germany one day, once I can afford it....
Well, that's my autobiographical blurb.
