I kinda thought it was supposed to be balefire, but it doesn't look like a very clean cut.

Not if you read it in French and you don't know what you are saying.

Well said. Everything in French is poetic  :D

I'll be away from RE, ideally for about two months, but I'll be back. Hopefully I'll be able to do some critiques every now and then :)

Hrrm...like I said, I definitely prefer closed-eyes Vin. As for color vs B&W, both have their pros and cons. I would go for color, just try changing a few things around and see what works. I absolutely love what you did with the mist at the bottom, it does have a slightly otherworldly quality. However, I think Vin's skin tone and the color of the sky can improve. If the blue is the complimentary of the red, obviously changing the red will change the blue, but I guess that can't be helped :(

The ash...I think if you want to give it the effect of being closer to the "camera" as it were, you will need to put flakes directly in front of Vin. Yes, that will mean some of the awesome detail you put into her will vanish, but as it is the ash doesn't have the same quality and effort put into it as the rest of the scene.

All that said...this is AWESOME! Would you mind putting up a link to your gallery? I'd love to see some more of your art :)

Let me just say I love the mist effects and color at the bottom, swirling around her cloak. Also...hrrm. It didn't bother me so much in black and white, but in color I would say give her another button or two.

Very nice! I see you fixed the sky gradient, that bugged me a bit.

I would say definitely leave the eyes closed. Way cooler. Also, I think the ash flakes might be too big. They look a bit chunky to me. And personally I imagine the sky color to be a bit more chalky and the red less vivid and intense. Otherwise, its great!

Oh yeah, I think Vin should also be paler.

Alright. Of course everyone has a right to their opinion. The Bible clearly affirms that there is a spiritual battle going on within our souls and that angels and demons do exist. And of course any time fiction about the supernatural world is presented, you must be careful. However, you need to remember it is FICTION.

Although the name sounds vaguely familiar I've never watched Touched by an Angel. Is that where people share their own experiences of meetings with angels? In that case, I would have to agree with you.

So far, Supernatural has not really been about the spiritual realm as much as it is about zombies and vampires, which I don't find any more offensive than watching Tom Hanks fight off the Stay-Puft Marshmellow Man.

I've been watching this show on and off for a couple years now, catching the odd episode when I can. A couple weeks ago, I decided to sit down and work my way through the first couple seasons.

I can officially say it; this show is AWESOME! It mixes superb acting with dark horror/action and some truly hilarious moments in a television vintage for the ages. Here's a description of the show stolen from cwtv.com, but it doesn't do it justice.
Quote
Twenty-three years ago, Sam Winchester (Jared Padalecki) and Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) lost their mother to a mysterious and demonic supernatural force. Subsequently, their father John (Jeffrey Dean Morgan, "Grey's Anatomy") raised them to be soldiers. He taught them about the paranormal evil that lives in the dark corners and on the back roads of America...and he taught them how to kill it.

For most of season one, I was just enjoying the cool action scenes and great special effects and wondering about hints at a plot twist, but I was completely blown away by the season finale. Somehow while I wasn't looking they sneaked a theme in there. The show had stopped being good and became great.

I should warn you, it can get a bit raunchy at times. Also, keep in mind it is firmly in the horror genre. However, and this is coming from someone who doesn't watch horror movies, the pure SCARY aspect of it was well within my threshold.

Now go watch it already!

The book describes him as having blonde hair. I forget what length, but I always saw it as rather long ie to his eyes. I don't know what his height is like, but I always thought he was pretty tall, around six feet I guess. Slender, but muscular. And of course he has to be smiling :)

lol yes, this strip was pretty good :P

I've also been impressed more by the art. It seems like he's been doing a lot more detail in the backgrounds.

lol, LOTS of funny quotes this episode. My personal favorite was schizophrenic Alpha.
"I'm not bluffing!"
"We're not bluffing!"
"Okay, I'm bluffing-"
"-But the rest of us-"
"We mean business!"

Either way, in order to give this a try, I've hired a full-time assistant, Peter Ahlstrom, to do all the things in a day that normally take my time away from writing/revising.

We're counting on you, Ookla!
