Yea, JP got me in. here's my nation:
The Theocracy of Ehlers
Location: the Pacific
The Theocracy of Ehlers is a tiny, devout nation, notable for its strong anti-business politics. Its hard-nosed, cynical population of 5 million are ruled without fear or favor by a psychotic dictator, who outlaws just about everything and refers to the populace as "my little playthings."
The enormous government concentrates mainly on Law & Order, although Religion & Spirituality and Commerce are on the agenda. The average income tax rate is 34%, but much higher for the wealthy. Private enterprise is illegal, but for those in the know there is a slick and highly efficient black market in Arms Manufacturing.
Crime -- especially youth-related -- is relatively low, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Ehlers's national animal is the seven headed dragon, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the pope.
-
Same here.
Jam's nation:

Mine : http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/target=display_nation/nation=niniveh
-
We should form some sort of alliance. I'll send you telegrams (even though my nation is fairly evil, and you guys look like you actually CARE about your citizens. Ewww....)
-
That's hilarious, SE, I made a Theocracy as well.
http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/target=display_nation/nation=fellfrosch
By the way, I made a region creatively called TWG. You are all free to move in and get comfortable.
-
Ent's making a new region now. I wanted to muck around with a second nation in the UN, so I'll join the region with both of those nations. I suggest everyone else foes the same, making a sort of TWG region.
-
I'm thinking we should call our union the "Alliance of Time-Wasters"
By the way, if today has been any indication, the forum's server sucks pretty hard core.
-
Well, poo. I created a region called "Procrastania" with a password of "leapinglemur". Which do we wanna use?
-
Dang, I made TWG before I knew about Procrastania. Maybe we should all go there?
-
I like Procrastania
-
It's a much better name than TWG. We need to remove the password, though, so that random nobodies can jump in. Let's all go there.
-
Ok, I'm moving to Procrastania now with my new nation, then I'll move my older one from TWG to Procrastania.
-
Removed password from Procrastania.
-
It's taking so FRICKING long for anything to load. Grrr
-
It's taking SO FRICKING LONG for anything to load
-
Yeah, stuff happens.
-
Yes, it sure does.

here's mine

tee hee
http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/target=display_nation/nation=kije
This is a very cool way to promote a book.
-
just a FYI, the server updates the info at 5 am MST, and if you're on the 2 issues a day then 5pm is the other time. Of course everyone tries to check their stuff at these times so the server is realy slow.
-
http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/target=display_nation/nation=transylvana_environ
Well hello there!
I see the detant is starting... anyone thought about putting together a game of diplomacy online with this simulation?
-
You know, a massive continual online Diplomacy tourney would be very cool.
-
Yes, I do love it when one from our own nation brings down word that if I do anything, he'll annex my country. Good tidings I say.
-
I think there are a few Java applications that can do diplomacy if you have a map, Kijja posted them for his diplomacy review... we could set up a mini network and run it that way... if someone had the time, knowhow and inclination that is.
-
I don't get what it is you're exactly pushing Jeffe. Is it some sort of program where we can do diplomatic dealings in real time? Or are you speaking of something risk-esque in fashion?
And I could put a map together, using Europe and Asia, if you all don't mind. If there's a certain area you want, do tell. Heres a picture of said map I'll use: http://www.cnn.com/interactive/health/0207/aids.world.map/images/east.europe.asia.gif
-
Go read Kijjas review of diplomacy....
That map wont do... we need our own new world to explore... our own continent so to speak....
-
Just to be clear (yes, we're back on that) Diplomacy is a GAME that Jeffe and I are referring to.
-
OOhhhh, that board-y game thingy. Right, I get it now.
-
So just to be clear... mr man is wearing headgear? Whats wrong with his teeth?
-
Mr. Man has no mouth.
He's wearing a blind fold and ear muffs, to mirror my title of Deaf, blind, and mute. Follow the conversation here, man.
-
Oh, I thought he was a Cylon.
-
That's it, you're both on The List
Oh, and The Theocracy of Ehlers is declaring war on you
-
oh well it was hard to tell, sorry about the mixup...
-
I had toyed with the idea of getting a diplomacy game organized online, as it proved fruitless to try and get a live session to work. It could be easily done here, with messages being sent through email or the private message function of the board. Resource boards and an updated game board could be hosted here, or at thelemur, or even on my wife's portion of the BYU public hard drive (that's where my icon's staying.) And all things public could be carried out over threads. What think ye?
-
and when is the Theocracy of Ehlers not at war with any/all of its neighbors? Any declarations are redundant.
-
A declaration means we're mad enough that we publically ACKNOWLEDGE that we're at war.
-
so much anger...therapists must be at a premium in the Th. o' Eh.
-
actually, i declared pschology and psychaiatry sins and all heretical therapists are executed by stoning.
-
I actualy have several ideas on how to conduct trade and some diplomacy with this game. I'm actualy working on a GUI for it.
-
so now theyre worth even more!!!
So et me get this straight... your at war with everyone?
-
well the diplomacy parts kind of a no brainer... its already built in...
War and trade are not...
-
your motto should be "don't tell me about your mother."
-
speaking of trade, anyone want to join ProFTA? (Procrastania Free Trade Agreement) I've got truckloads of cheese and cheese products I'm just dying to export...
-
A CURSE ON YOUR CHEESE!
-
Sure. But be warned any shipment of cheese that does not come from the nation of Monkey Fu may not make it to it's destination.
-
The Theocracy of Ehlers does not deal with non-prophet organizations
-
lol thats a good one SE
-
Well, I've got some awesome baskets being weaved. Also I've got some good retail and cheese exports. I'd be willing to import some cheese's too.
-
see, this is why your economy sucks (ok, so it doesn't, but still).
-
I have a basket weaving emporium. I will do communism the right way!
-
You are so not communism
-
Monkey Fu will be glad, for a fee of course, to gaurentie any shipment of non-Fu cheese to any nation.
-
The Theocracy of Ehlers will be pleased (for a certain fee) to make sure no Ninja Monkey Assassin Priests from the Theocracy of Ehlers attack any cheese shipments
-
Here's an idea: We should set up a table of the exchange rates of each of our different currancies. That would be cool.
-
The Borderlands of Kije has no need to fear piracy. We use perky coeds with short skirts to guard all our exports.
-
so my Ninja Monkey Assassin Priests would pick up girlfriends at the same time.
-
ah but you forget school girls weakness to cute monkeys, Kije. My kung-fu monkey shock troopers and ninja monkey pirates will use that to thier advantage.
-
/me orders his planes to carpet bomb any cheese shipments :P
-
As far as monkeys playing into schoolgirls' weaknesses, I have equipped all my coed warriors with pet whistling rat monkeys of their own. Whistling rat monkeys hate all other monkeys, and so any attempt to befriend or even approach any coed by foreign monkeys will result in a distressed pet rat monkey, and enmity between thee and the coeds. Bad monkeys! Bad, bad monkeys!
And as far as the carpet bombing is concerned, our ships are all unbombable. That's right, plainly and simply unbombable.
**Kije and his elite coeds stick their tongues out at all agressors.**
-
besides carpet bombing is more economicly feasibly when you drop the bombs on say... cities or other large targets. Ships require pinpoint accuracy not willy nilly flinging.
-
oh good, the whistling rat monkeys will become agitated and distract your coeds, whom we will also cover with a flurry of Orlando Bloom posters, thus further removing their interest from attacking Ninja Monkey Assassin Priests. THen our divers will remove specific sections of your hull undetected, and sink your cheese shipments.
And of course that's not what I'm REALLY going to do. Otherwise it wouldn't be a surprise.
-
So I bar-coded my citizens yesterday. Y'know, for their own good. (read, so I can keep track of any treason)
Then they have the nerve to indicate they want less dictatorship.
Ingrates
Then my brother, the minister of finance, suggests I know what's best for my people. I'm sure I do. But I'm really doing it because it's fun.
Now, why do I even HAVE a minister of finance?
-
It must be some sort of virus.... I must say when my brother the Baron Count Buchenwald XVII brought it up over dinner I nearly chocked him with my own hands... thankfull I had an automaton next to me or I may have had to get dirty.
But what a stupid resolution... after all I already force my population to vote at gunpoint, thats real democracy.
On the other hand my government is taking meat to make animal cruelty less appetizing....
-
I thought that I made it clear that this wasn't about democracy. It's about me.
-
I started making nations having to do with our TW(i)G setting.
I've done Tyleria and Bask (had to make up variations on the names because they were being used by someone). Question is, do we want to just put them in Procrastania (where they are now) or would anyone be interested in doing an Azmoth region in addition to Procrastania? (in which case other people can make nations to go along with the write ups we've done or will do soon)
-
umm ok, I realise this can be fun. But do we realy need to have everyone with multiple countries? JP has 2, SE has 3 and there are still a few that I don't know who belongs to who.
-
I only started a second because I wanted to muck around with the UN. But I agree it gets confusing. Maybe we should create a list of who owns everthing.
Mine:
JamPaladin - My UN, Anarchist one
systemJammers - my personal, poor one.
-
I only have 1. I'm only interested in having one.
-
I was interested in trying a few different approaches and seeing what issues I got
Plus I wanted one in the UN.
I'm running:
- The Theocracy of Ehlers (mine) where civil rights and personal freedoms are "unheard of" but the economy is still strong
- The Republic of Free Trade Bask which is completely business centered. This is the one I hope to enter into the UN
- The Empire of the Tylerian Empire, which is going to try and be expansionist and hardline without being intolerant. This one is the only one where I've dismissed issues.
-
How about we limit it to 1 country per person in Procrastania? That way we don't have any real confusion, since others only see your main one, and you can get on with the other ones as you will.
-
I don't see why it matters. We removed the password so anyone could come in. And each country has a different personality, so it's not like you're dealing with a person anyway. If we wanted to just chat, we can do that here. Besides, the people with multiple countries, are JP and me. JP's are both very obvious. My main one is VERY obvious, and I'm just told you about the others, which are all themed from this web site. *shrug*. I guess I think there's no reason for such a rule.
-
What is there to get confused about? I don't advocate everyone having three nations, necessarily, but I don't mind some people having two. It's not like having more gives you an unfair advantage or anything.
-
there's no real problem right now, but if for somereason we start more seriously keeping track of trade and possible wars this could give unfair advantages to those that have multiple. But I'm basicaly not even going to deal with others non main countries for right now, makes things less confuseing for me.
-
eh. I look at it as role playing. I dont' see ANY reason to keep track of trade or wars. Plus my nations have different philosophies, and very little reason to stick together in a war.
-
Mine are sort of similar, but in the interests of fairness, they won't be in any way assisting each other beyond, say, a total Procrastania alliance or something. I am trying my best to keep them seperate - if you have an alliance with system, and then go to war with Jam, I'll most probably have system aid in attacking Jam. As I said, I only have two to play around with the UN. I'm not there for unfair advantages.
As for wars, if you look around the forums you get some good ideas and programs on how they tend to work. Generally, you figure a 5% millitary, and then decide on how many tanks, infantry support etc.
-
Well, this goofier than any goofieness that I know of has rekindeled my appetite to play Earth 2025 again. So, I have signed up and am now on my second day of playing. Man do I still love this game. Not that Nation States isn't cool... it just lacks a better approach to things.
-
on another note, should we have a standard issue setting for our countries (just the primary account for those of you that have multiple)? so only 5 days a week or 7 days a week and then one or two issues a day. Or is this something that dosen't matter one way or another?
-
again, this seems like an unneccessary rule. There is just no reason to control the issues each country has a day.
-
wow my UN classifcation changed.
One questoin to JP, how does dismissing an issue change your country if at all?
-
I had two nations dismiss issues recently. Apparently it didn't change anything.
Here's whats upsetting about my stupid citizens.
The Tylerian Empire has an average income tax of 11%. That's pretty dang low (in the US, the average income tax rate is much closer to 40%, in socialist states it's much higher than that). Yet the issue this morning was a demand to lower taxes. Greedy bastards. I should raise the tax for that.
In the Theocracy of Ehlers, apparently, if kids aren't gambling in casinos they'd be out spraypainting trains (I ignored the urging to outlaw gambling or to specifically approve it for children -- changed my mind, don't want to lose that oppressive status, so I outlawed gambling altogether). (note that the Theocracy of Ehlers is DEAD LAST in the region in terms of liberalism, however, and is ranked 112,587 out of 114,917 nations in the WORLD).
In Free Trade Bask, college students sell kidneys to pay tuition. This is cool.
-
93% income tax. Beat that. Just, beat that.
-
wow, and I thought *I* was a bastard for denying my citizens free speech and barcoding them. But at least they can spend their money...
-
Spriggan while I understand your desire to add fairness to the simulation.. the number of issues someone deals with is kind of a personal choice. Think of the two issue menu as a Glasnost feature while one or one every weeday could be looked at as a supremely conservative approach.
Im not sure I get the Change in UN status for Transylvana... We just became iron fisted consumerists and I havent had a single economic issue at all.
But I just barcoded everone and said that Euthanasia shouldnt be legal. How does that make us any more consumerist than we were yesterday.
-
I dont' think those categories have much to do with anything that's really going on.
-
It may be that you already had a "consumerist" classification behind the scenes, and the recent changes just bumped you more in the iron-fisted direction.
By the way, I was trying to make Noh a truly anarchist state, but I'm happy to see that we're now a Lovefest. Gotta love that.
-
What ELSE would anarcy be? Chaotic violence? Right.
-
It addresses the UN classifications in the info about nationstates as a whole. I can't remember where exactly, but I remember reading it.
-
mmmmmmmmmaybe. But That site has some serious problems. WHenever I try to look at anything besides the nation pages or the region page for Procratania it takes forever and half the time won't load at all.
-
I only have that problem at around 5 am MST when the site is updateing.
-
i have that problem CONSTANTLY. on all computers
-
On my pc its just slow. And half the time i get a site not found error.
-
which is exactly what I'm saying. Glad to know it's not just me.
-
Since i am on broadband with a uber fast PC, there is simply no question of problems on my end. Evidently nationstates needs new servers.
-
As an Anarchist, I take offence. Anarchy means no hierarchy or government of any sort, every one is exactly equal, no one better than anyone else. That doesn''t mean, say, muder is ok, because there's no law. Rather murder is making yourself more important than the victim, so is against the anarchist ideal. For more information, try www.anarchyfaq.org
-
an·ar·chy n. pl. an·ar·chies
1. Absence of any form of political authority.
2. Political disorder and confusion.
3. Absence of any cohesive principle, such as a common standard or purpose.
From dictionary.com
-
Guess who wrote that? The same people who wrote "The Anarchy Handbook - The FBI" You see, Anarchy is strong. So strong the us government (mostly Illuminati run) fear it, sicne they could lose their power. So they make every attempt to discredit it. To quote Rage Against the Machine "Through Counter-Intelligence, we can identify potential troublemakers and neutralise them"
Through the Counter intelligenc eof publishing that book, potential troublemaker s(anyone who reads it) are identified, and since tryig anything in the book would likely get the user killed, they are neutralised. At the same time, the genel public starts to think less of anarchy,
Context, people.
-
The Theocracy of Ehlers declares war on JamPaladin.
-
So, almost a week into Earth2025 (possibly less) I've amassed about 3.8 billion dollars, to spend as I wish. With that 3.8 billion I can purchase 26,960 troops, 20,185 Jets, 18,446 Turrets, 6579 Tanks, or 10,739 Bushels.
games.swirve.com. Yeah, quite the fun game.
-
Haha... in my nation, the elections are controlled by the corporations...
Cyberpunk, here we come! :D
-
I don't think "cyberpunk" is something reasonable governments shoot for.
Wait, Entropy. yeah, nm.
-
I'm with Fell's Noh. I'm shooting for anarchy.
-
here's a cool flash program that you can use to create your countries national anthem. http://www.sr.se/cgi-bin/p1/src/sing/default.asp
just type in your lyerics and the program does the rest.
-
Hey kids, I just wanted to say hello. I've joined up, and moved to Procrastania. The Sultanate of House of Mustard.
-
I'd like to point out that Noh is not only the most liberal nation in the region, but #264 or so in the world. Huzzah!
And by the way: welcome, Mustard!
-
The Theocracy of Ehlers declares war on the Sultinate of House of Mustard.
(it's what you get in Procratania instead of a house warming party).
And Fell, we must be shooting for opposites here. I'm not only last in the region, but in the bottom 2k or so in the world (which means in the bottom 1-2%). Good thing we're allies.
-
Fortunately, camouflage is the official dresscode of my nation. You're military rolls on through and out the other side.
-
In systemjammers, I juts made nudity compulsory. That's our national dresscode.
-
The Sultanate of House of Mustard is going to do some serious reconnaisance on systemjammers.
-
Well, on half of the population at least.
-
Fortunately, camouflage is the official dresscode of my nation. You're military rolls on through and out the other side.
OH, see, I'm not INVADING. Just declaring war.
-
Im writing our national anthem and it has monkeys in it....
-
Well then, SE, we declare war on you too. And then we taunt you across the border.
-
The Theocracy of Ehlers responds by calling the House of Mustard to repentance.
-
The Theocracy of Fellfrosch denies the possibility of repentance, and charges the Theocracy of Saint Ehlers with heresy. Again. We'll just add it to your tab.
-
The Sultan of House of Mustard sends the Prophet (or whatever the leader of Fellfrosh is) a nice gift basket from Hickory Farms, including a little loaf of smoked cheddar and a variety of summer sausage, in thanks for charging my enemy with heresy.
-
the THeocracy sends a crack team of Ninja Monkey Assassin Priests to intercept the Hickory Farms set and bring it back to their God-Emperor. Or, failing that, to destroy it.
The God-Emperor Saint Ehlers, on hearing that he was execommunicated by the Church of the Dire Frog, rolls his eyes and demands more root beer.
-
I had planned on that little attack, and the loaf of smoked cheddar was actually an anti-ninja bomb.
The real gift basket was parachuted into Fell's Temple/Throne Room.
-
ah, see, what you don't realize is the parachuted gift is what they went to intercept.
-
Curses!
-
The ninjas are all knowing! They cannot be tricked unless you bribe them with sardines and non-alcoholic beer.
Dang. I shouldn't have told you that.
-
I send a very tempting gift basket to Fell again, this time full of sardines, non-alcoholic beer, and a loaf of smoked cheddar.
-
it's not a bribe if you don't send it to them. If you just send it to someone else, they'll just steal it and give you nothing.
-
Ah, but if they steal it, then the smoked cheddar anti-ninja bomb goes off and they ALL DIE!
-
Plus, he probably included a gift card in there addressed to the ninjas, since he knew they would steal it anyway.
-
oh, well, that's a nice, Marth Stewart touch
-
I just got a repeat Issue today, it was actualy the first issue I got. Anyone else had a repeat?
-
Frequently. Maybe I'm just unlucky.
-
I've had one or two, but I figured they were ones I'd dismissed earlier.
-
heh, here's a nice juxtaposition of facts:
The Republic of Free Trade Bask
Civil Rights: World Benchmark Economy: Thriving Political Freedoms: Good
Free Trade Bask is ranked 1st in the region and 7,905th in the world for Stupidest Citizens.
Note that Bask recently joined the UN as well.
-
Our first war with another region, I'm so proud :'(
-
yeah, it brings a tear to the eye.
On the other hand, I was thinking that NationStates is kind of a dorky thing to form a clan in (even compared to forming clans in other video games and endeavers, which is pretty dorky to start with). Yet it's the one place we have essentially formed a clan. I find that amusing.
-
The Colony of Suffragette101&102, these someones nations? From what I get they came from a regoin where someone was allied with the guys declaring war on us.
-
hey Entropy can you kick out all those morons who are comming from other nations. One person just made himself a UNdelegate (buy useing multiple accounts), wich means he has access to boot people from the region too.
-
smack tards
-
Well I filled out a complaint form that exists to notify the mods when someone is violateing the UN rule. Also it's against the rules to take over a region and kick everyone out. So hopefully all of that persons accounts will be desolved.
-
From the FAQs:
Can I invade other people's regions?
Yes. The practice of "region crashing," where a group of nations all move to a region with the aim of seizing the UN Delegate position, is part of the game. Certain groups within NationStates are particularly adroit at this, and can attack very quickly.
-
ya it's legal if several people move to a region and take control. This is all one account (they have the same names and imported flags etc), wich is illegal. Also if he starts kicking people out of the region, thats against the rules. Which follows what you just posted.
-
I lodged a complaint with the moderators to have them investigate the three nations, since they appear to be cheating. Hopefully we'll see them barred from the UN soon, which makes them useless
-
It's my understanding that the offending accounts will be deleted.
-
either way. I'm happy.
-
Actually, due to my extreme paranoia and control freak tendencies, i made it so that only i could access Regional Control, not the UN delegate.
Oh, and can someone tell me precisely who to kick out? I'm not up to date on who controls what.
-
Okies, so the suffragettes all got booted with extreme prejudice. Do i boot the Jojo banana place as well? I have a friend who uses 'Jojo' as a nickname, which is rather confusing.
-
JoJo Banana is me, by the way, along with the Sultanate of House of Mustard. I have two nations. So sue me.
I am pleased to know, however, that I am under consideration for banishment.
-
na, the suffragrates were the ones casueing the problems. Some sad little 14 year old britt or ausie. Tried to insult us by calling us "Yanks".
-
I think that was more of a question than an insult. It was the game behavior that annoyed me. Now, why is Bask not hte UN rep again?
-
need to wait till the server recalculates and updates everything, wich isn't till 5-6 am MST. Though he is no longer in our region.
-
I am pleased to know, however, that I am under consideration for banishment.
Strictly speaking, every country barring Niniveh is under consideration for banishment. You were merely under active consideration. (Kudos to the Yes, Minister fans who recognise that line).
Anyway, like i said - due to the settings, only i have the god-like powers of regional control. So the silly little dork wasn't getting any power anyway.
-
well, this doesn't make sense:
Guns are banned, citizens ... and it's a common sight to see angry commuters with grenade launchers mounted on their vehicles.
-
hey, JP, i hope you're still up. Will you re-endorse me if I resign from the UN and then rejoin? This stupid issue really annoys me, and that would be the coolest protest.
-
Wow... I totally forgot about this game. Whoopsie.
-
why bother? None of the other delegates know who you are, and wont even notice youre absence.
Oh, and Gemm, I think your nation got deleted. The system automaticaly does it after 20 odd days of inactivity.
-
actually, i've been vocal on the message board debate about hte issue. Been quoted by the author of the issue.
Also, it prevents my nation from being affected by the resolution.
-
well that's realy cool. Good for you. Now hit him up for a free copy of his book so you can reivew it.
-
well, I meant the author of the ISSUE. Not hte book. However, I'm not interested in the book. But if you want it, I'm sure either Fell or I could try.
-
no, not realy
-
How's this for messed up:
The Issue
In desperation at the plight of the beagle, which has virtually no natural habitat left in Free Trade Bask, a somewhat unorthodox environmental group demands that the few surviving specimens be domesticated and sold in pet stores.
The Debate
1. "We must act now, before the beagle is lost forever," said spokesperson Calvin Wong during a recent interview. "Domestication has ensured the survival of many endangered species in the past, and there really is no alternative left at this point. Besides, I'm sure many families would be thrilled to welcome a beagle into their homes."
2. "Sure, beagles might look cute and harmless to you," says retired hunting legend Bill Summers, "but back in my day, they were the scourge on the nation. They carry a number of dangerous diseases, and you do NOT want to be bitten by one. My cousin was once bitten by a beagle. So now you want my grandchildren exposed to these things? The sooner they disappear completely, the better!"
The reason I chose "beagle" as my national animal was because it was already domesticated and could be sold in stores.
-
I recall having the same problem with my nation. Of course my national animal was the 'Autobot', and domesticating them proved a bit interesting.
-
Why, did they produce little babies that ended up spinning off into a really bad TV show.... errr, I mean no.
-
Mine is the black hawk, as in the helicopter. I was always interested in precisely how it 'frolicked' in the 'woods'.
-
In all fairness, they asked for an ANIMAL, not transformable robot or vehicle of war, so any incongruities between the issue and the actual reality of your national animal are to be expected. I didn't know there were wild beagles though.
-
..bizarre-looking creatures called 'fanged spider-monkeydogs' dominate wildlife preserves...
OH yeah.
-
Well it looks like it's going to be between me, SE, and Entropy as to who'll actualy keep on logging in the longest. The winner gets control of all of Procrastania! Ahahahahahahaha!
-
I have his book... it was pretty good.
-
I still occassionally see new issues. What's really disappointing about it is the lack of interaction with other nations. You can role play wars, but they have 0 effect on the individual nations.
I also disagree with quite a bit of his political theory, which is at best full of exaggerated results.
-
I think the exagerated part is about the only real fun to the site. But I don't know how much longer I'll go just becasue the past week have been nothing but repeats for me and I have yet to make it to a police-state dispite my best efforts.
-
*sigh*
I may quit. I don't post on the weekend, so on MOnday morning I have several issues backlogged. One nation got the same issue two days in a row. How lame.

Ya I reached my goal of getting 500 million people, which is when you can give your own title to your nation, so there's not much of a reason to play anymore. I've been getting noting by repeats for the past week or two. The thing that annoys me the most was I wasn't able to make my nation a Corpert Police state despite me best efforts, I think it has to do with when I made the nation I started out as a non corperation friendly nation. So if that's why then I'm very upset with the game as a whole.
-
really?
wow. All my nations have almots 600 million or more. *shrug*
What's weird is that though they have three core philosophies: empire building and tradition, iron-fisted control, and boosting business, many of the issues get the same choices by all three. Like giving titles. If they can buy it, Bask is in for it (we can set up a corporation to profit thereby), It fits in with Tyleria's personality, and Ehlers, well, anything that increases the appearance of inequality.

I dropped the right wing comercialism and am now trying to turn it into hell on earth.
And i have 600 mil ppl. Whats this about a title?
-
check your "settings"
when you create the nation, you get a drop down to the "republic of" or whatever. after you get 500 million citizens, it's a text box and you can type in anything you want.
-
welp, I think I decided to drop out. Between crappy load times, no actual dynamics, unrealistic political consequences (even when you accept the exaggeration) I was feeling pretty let down. But now I got the SAME issues TWICE on the SAME DAY. That's just lame.
-
But as I claimed from the start, it looked like something that's be a fair bit of fun for five minutes a day for a little while. Can't say it didn't do that.
-
hey, I never blamed you.
For this anyway. I'm just saying it's tired now.
-
Heh, we should all play a play-by-email game, like Laser Squad Nemesis, to fill the gap instead.
-
Yeah, let's. Then let's all attempt to lodge pointy objects into our eyes. Prefereably ones that are on fire. And being chased by ninjas, and the ninjas are also on fire. Then put out said fire (which is on a pointy thing lodged in our eyes) by beating the fire out. With sticks. Big ones.
-
big sticks, with sharp bits. And covered in Kerosene.
Or sign up for 42's forum based game.

I do think it was a cleaver little idea for selling a book and I don't think it was ever intended to be any substancial game or too indepth. I am intrested to see what ver 2.0 they keep talking about will be like if it ever comes out.

I saw the book in the bookstore the other day. Thanks to the site, I read the blurb, and thanks to reading the blurb I want to read the book. So yeah, I'd say it's an effective and original method of promotion.
